10 CBD-Related Brands Absolutely Worth Looking Into This Summer

One of the most buzzed about terms with the health space over the past few years is “CBD.” Unfortunately it is not easy to explain what CBD — a non-psycho-active cannabinoid present in both cannabis and hemp — is to the everyday person. And on top of that, not all CBD-related products are regulated by the FDA. However, many medical professional are excited about the benefits of CBD.

Below are 10 CBD-related brands I have recently discovered per personal research and/or story pitches received over the last few months of 2020, all of which absolutely worth looking into.

Hempbase

Hempbase’s CBD comes from fine hemp plants grown, harvested and dried by expert farmers in Kentucky, then tested by rigorous third-party labs. Transparent from start to finish, Hempbase makes products within vape, oil, gummy and topical categories. My favorite of the Hempbase offerings are the mouth-watering Vegan CBD Gummies. One bottle comes with a mix of Raspberry, Strawberry, Mango and Lemon-Lime flavors, all packed with 25mg CBD per serving. Expect 750mg worth of premium CBD Gummies in each bottle ordered from Hempbase.

Wild by Nature

Wild by Nature boasts a line of premium-grade CBD products, as exclusively derived from USA-grown hemp and manufactured to the highest quality. Its products are rigorously tested in independent labs right through the manufacturing stages, and each finished product comes with its own, fully-independent lab test. Wild offers CBD tinctures, convenient and portable CBD single shots, and a proprietary, clean CBD pod vapor system with the cleanest anti-burn technology on the market.

Thus, you can enjoy your daily CBD in whichever way is most convenient for you. With all the skepticism and consumer mistrust in the CBD world as it is, Wild aims to keep that transparency and consumer education an essential part of its brand DNA. As the Wild by Nature website directly notes, all of these products have been helmed from the “first seed to final drop,” with absolutely 0% THC.

Cann Social Tonics

A tonic is taken to give a feeling of vigor or well-bring. In the case of Cann’s Social Tonics, expect a great combination of THC and CBD to give you an uplifting buzz. Since Cann is a beverage, you absorb the cannabis right away, faster than you would with a solid edible. While the initial feelings of Cann are to be expected within 10 minutes, you can also expect those feelings to subside faster, after about an hour. Thus, you can maintain control after enjoying Cann’s fine, fine offerings.

1906

1906 is named for the year the Wiley Act — also known as the Pure Food & Drug Act — was voted into law, effectively starting the era of cannabis prohibition. 1906 is on a mission to bring cannabis back to its pre-prohibition status as a mainstream, and is redefining edibles with delicious fast-acting experiences. It has created 6 highly-functional formulations that combine socially-dosed cannabis with targeted plant medicines. Effectiveness aside, these edibles are also vegan, zero calories, allergen-free, portable, and discreet. Each drop thoughtfully pairs cannabis with botanicals, herbs, adaptogens, and other natural plant-based ingredients to enhance psychological and mental states. Probably the most delicious edibles I have enjoyed, thanks to 1906’s wonderful chocolate coatings.

Forest Remedies

Forest Remedies has a robust suite of CBD products on the market, beyond other wellness products like balms, tinctures and essential oils. Its Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract Soothing Balms are specifically-formulated for topical use, available in 600mg phytocannabinoids per 1 oz. tin. Its Full Spectrum Hemp Extract features all the benefits of hemp-derived cannabinoids and terpenes in a great-tasting liquid tincture, as available with 500mg or 1000mg phytocannabinoids per bottle. In total, Forest Remedies has formulated 21 single essential oils to date, and has plans to be launching exclusive aromatherapy blends later this year.

Philip B.

As Hollywood’s preeminent hair-treatment expert, Philip B. has garnered international praise for his visionary approach to hair, scalp and body-care treatments. His award-winning blends — all based on pure botanicals and essential oils at potent, unheard-of-in-the-industry concentrations — have helped change the way the world perceives luxury care for hair and skin. The brand’s CBD Scalp + Body Oil is formulated with the powerful combination of CBD, CBG, and terpenes that accelerate the soothing and calming benefits to stressed-out scalp and skin. It is color and keratin-treatment safe, paraben and phthalate-free, made without animal testing and formulated in the U.S.A. with a low-carbon footprint, while the botanicals are responsiblysourced and all packaging is recyclable.

G Pen

Grenco Science’s G Pen is widely-considered to be the pioneer in advanced-technology portable vaporizers. Long-time partners, Grenco Science and Cookies CBD collaborated on the Cookies Hemp CBD G Pen Gio to deliver the best tasting personal hemp CBD experience. The newly-engineered ceramic Gio cartridges are wickless with a ceramic plate to deliver the best taste from first hit to last. The cartridges insert easily and securely into the G Pen Gio battery, which is draw-activated and features an optimized heating temperature and integrated airpath for consistent smooth pulls with maximum vapor density. Deliciously, its Hemp CBD cartridges are available in 3 flavors: London Poundcake 75, Cereal Milk, and Gelatti.

Genesee Nutrition

Genesee Nutrition is a modern wellness company and community. An adventurous industry leader in the emerging cannabidiol-infused nutrition segment, it sources only the purest, broad-spectrum, water-soluble, industrial-hemp-derived CBD for its active-lifestyle CBD protein bars. The Genesee protein bars offer a healthy and delicious option for nutrition, fuel and recovery while at home or on the front-line. Each delicious protein bar is packed with 20g of plant-based protein, 5mg of CBD, and boasts a healthy take on popular flavors like Chocolate Peanut Butter Crispy and Cookies n’ Cream. Also certified-third party tested and includes a QR code, priced at $39.99 for a 12-pack, as available for order online.

Caliva

In less than five years, Caliva has grown to have over 400 employees. As one of the largest indoor cultivation and manufacturing facilities in California, Caliva produces approximately 11,000 pounds of cannabis each year and tens of thousands of more cannabis-related products. Earlier this year Caliva introduced Soul Grind, a broad-spectrum hemp-CBD unsweetened cold brew coffee. Dr. Han and the Vertosa team created an emulsion system for infusing the hCBD, resulting in maximum absorption. Available in Black, Mexican Chocolate and Vanilla flavors, each 8-ounce can of Soul Grind is comprised of organic cold brew with 100mg caffeine and 10mg broad-spectrum hCBD — a delicate formula deliberately designed to balance the energizing effects of caffeine with calming hCBD. Soul Grind is available nationwide online, as well as in select stores in Los Angeles and California’s Bay Area.

Tempo

Tempo’s sparkling matcha beverage with Raspberry + Lime contains 25mg of CBD and 25mg of natural caffeine. In turn, it is designed to provide a kick of energy with a balanced sense of calm, while also supporting and enhancing the body’s natural functions. Or more simply, a solution to improve our daily performance, manage stress, and help you to relax. Tempo is a certified-third-party-tested and includes a QR code on each can to see lab results. You can order a 4-pack online for $19.99.

Backyard Soda Co.

Last but definitely not least, the Backyard Soda Co. is an all-natural, non-alcoholic, CBD-infused beverage company with a lineup of 8 unique, all-natural flavored syrups and three sparkling soda options. Its Colorado-sourced, full-spectrum CBD syrups and sodas deliver all the benefits that come from the cannabinoids found in hemp plants to help you relax and even wake up refreshed. This business started as a small syrup cart in Denver in 2011 creating natural sodas, snow cones, slushies, and teas. Its simple but sophisticated flavors include ginger-lime, lavender-lemon, mango-jalapeño, and pomegranate orange blossom, all of which contain 15mg of full-spectrum CBD per serving. The overall product is distinct from the water-based, no-calorie, artificially-flavored competitors in the field.

Backyard Soda can be found at 80 retailers, including Whole Foods and Amazon, and is on track to reach 300+ stores in 2020, while its products are still made in small batches with real, local ingredients.
