28AV Connects with Lil Mosey & Souf Souf for “Banana” Video

The Seattle rap scene connected in a major way today with the music video release for the summer smash “Banana” from 28AV, Lil Mosey, and Souf Souf. This collaboration is especially significant because it brings together three different sides of the city of Seattle with Lil Mosey representing the North, 28AV representing Central District, and Souf Souf from the Southside. Following the Billboard-charting success of Lil Mosey’s “Blueberry Faygo” this single has a really good chance of putting up major numbers. “Banana” was released on H1ghr Music Records which is a label founded by Seattle native Jay Park with the goal of showcasing talented but undiscovered artists within his hometown.

Growing up as a Russian refugee in Seattle’s notorious Central District, 28AV has overcome his fair share of challenges in pursuit of a music career. From homelessness, teenage incarceration, and losing loved ones to gun violence, 28AV has been able to channel his toughest experiences into art. “I wanna show people that as long as there’s a glimpse of light in that window, you can grab that light and turn it into full-fledged enlightenment,” 28AV shared. In 2018, he signed to Jay Park’s H1GHR MUSIC where he released two well-received projects; Darko and Truly Unruly. Best known for his standout verses on tracks like “WDFA” with Jay Park and Higher Brothers, and “Comrades” featuring Pressa, 28AV has showcased his unique cultural background in collaborations with artists from all around the world. Over the years he has shared the stage with hip-hop icons including Young Jeezy, Pusha T, and the late Nipsey Hussle, and has collaborated with Lil Wayne, Max B, and many more. With a new project and more standout collaborations, including tracks with Tee Grizzley and Sada Baby, slated for release this year, 28AV is ready to stake his claim as one of the Northwest’s next breakout artists.
