Andre Gower On His Film “Baby Frankenstein,” The Forthcoming “Monster Squad” Doc & More

As released by Wild Eye Releasing last month, Baby Frankenstein is the story of Lance and his unlikely friendship with a self-aware, pint-sized automaton. Patrick McCartney and Bill Rutkoski co-star in this film directed by Jon YonKondy (Susquehanna, Don Quixote, In Honor Of Jack) — which blurs the lines between horror, sci-fi and drama — as featuring Andre Gower in the movie’s starring role.

Baby Frankenstein may be the latest starring role for Andre Gower, but it is far from his first. Perhaps best known his leading role in cult classic The Monster Squad, Gower’s credits include many of your favorite television shows from decades’ past, including The A-Team, Knight Rider, T.J. Hooker, The Hogan Family, Mr. Belvedere and My Two Dads. Unsurprisingly, he has been nominated for multiple acting-related accolades over the years, including an award for “Outstanding Young Actors/Actresses Ensemble in Television or Motion Picture” for his work on the aforementioned The Monster Squad.

Andre Gower has reinvented himself as a producer, director and podcaster in recent years, as also known to host high-profile screenings at festivals and conventions. For starters, he and fellow actor Ryan Lambert hosted the Pop My Culture Podcast, which produced over 200 episodes; the podcast was part of Nerdist, one of the first prominent podcast networks. Currently forthcoming for him is a documentary related to The Monster Squad called Wolfman’s Got Nards, which he directed.

As embedded below, I had the pleasure of interviewing Andre Gower via Zoom on July 23, 2020 about Baby Frankenstein, Wolfman’s Got Nards, podcasting, finding success in entertainment post-childhood, Dokken and more. Gower and his various projects can be followed online by visiting www.twitter.com/andregower, www.instagram.com/andregowerofficial and www.thesquaddoc.com, while Baby Frankenstein is now out via Amazon and other fine e-tailers.
