IMVU, the world’s largest avatar-based social network, presents the Spirit World Virtual Music Festival July 23-25.  The first-of-its-kind free music festival features over 50 international artists – and their avatars – performing live on IMVU’s Twitch channel.  Spirit World will bring together fans of all music genres for an unforgettable three days of music, community, and friendship in a beautiful 3D virtual world.

The line-up includes over 50 artists performing across six unique virtual stages over three days.  Each virtual stage is themed to a different genre of music — including Hyper-Pop, Electronic, Techno, Ambient, Hardcore, RnB, Rap and Experimental — and features a headliner and several opening artists, each playing a 30-minute set.  Headliners include English singer/songwriter Hannah Diamond; Los Angeles-based Hyper-Pop artist Cowgirl Clue; and Atlanta-based queer rapper Cakes Da Killa with more to be announced soon.

The Spirit World Virtual Music Festival is programmed by IMVU and members of Brooklyn-based electronic duo Spirit Twin.  Anna and Allen of Spirit Twin are longtime IMVU community members and used the platform to create a music video for their single Angel 333.

“Musicians have long turned to IMVU as a source of self-expression, inspiration and connection.  We’re always impressed by artists who use the creative tools in IMVU to make entirely original metaverses,” said Daren Tsui, CEO of IMVU.  “We were awed by Spirit Twin’s innovative use of IMVU in their music video and knew that we wanted to work with them to bring more of their talent to the platform.  We’re thrilled to collaborate with Spirit Twin to bring the Spirit World Virtual Music Festival to music lovers around the world.”

“We first began using IMVU as a form of virtual therapy. We found that among all the social platforms, IMVU creates a tranquil and inclusive environment,” explained Anna and Allen of Spirit Twin.  “Over the past few months, we have seen music collectives like Hurt Free Network and Parasite Label stream shows via IMVU, so we decided to take things step further. With Spirit World we aim to usher in a new age of digital performance while empowering artists and the community at large.”
