Kareen Lomax Has No “Hard Feelings” on New Single

Following her recent collab on Diplo & Paul Woolford’s “Looking For Me,” Atlanta-born singer and in-demand songwriter Kareen Lomax (pronounced kah-RIN) demands the mic with the release of her single “Hard Feelings”, out now.

Inspired by her past brush with fame and the belief that it was over, Kareen’s rich vocals and raw relatable lyrics shimmer over halcyonic synthesizers and a bass-rumbling beat.

“If I don’t got what it takes then why you tryna take shit? / Homie this is my house, don’t be tryna break shit / Bring you to the water but I can’t make you taste it / They don’t give it to me imma take it,” Kareen delivers before the song’s spellbinding chorus.

For Kareen, “Hard Feelings” represents her life coming full circle, back to the place to where it all began and back to what she loves doing the most. After living the rose-tinted life of a hotly tipped pop newcomer in 2016, gaining hundreds of thousands of listeners overnight thanks to a $50 Facebook ad for then single “Melatonin”, Kareen admits she lost sight of why she began making music to start with. She decided to return to her hometown and became a dog groomer, picking up her life where she left it years before the overnight, blinding success.

‘Hard Feelings’ is the start of me taking the gloves off for a seat at the table in this world and industry,” Kareen explains. “I had just survived setback after setback in my business and relationships, and was being constantly brought up just to be torn down. I found my strength and my purpose in this song to be living proof that no-one can tell you who you are but you.”

Thanks to a chance discovery from Diplo in 2019, 2020 is set to be Kareen Lomax’s second coming. The songstress’ hypnotic collaboration with Diplo and Paul Woolford, “Looking For Me,” released 6/24 on Diplo’s own house music label Higher Ground, was tipped as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on Radio 1’s Future Sounds
