Knitwit Releases Visuals for “LookOut” Off the Album “Knitty Gritty II”

KNITWIT is a Grammy nominated recording artist, songwriter, and producer. He is a musical trailblazer celebrated for his familiar design of slow funk and grind. His music integrates the infamous West Coast sound along with funk and R & B. Knitwit can proudly boast 12 albums and over 250,000 overall record sales paired with a Gold record, a number one hit single for 31 consecutive weeks, an Akademia award, and two Dove nominations.

Describing his sound as “reality rap”, KNITWIT focuses on his life experiences, as well as those of others. ‘LookOut’ comes with a music video shot in front of a green screen, which features multiple versions of the artist, each with a larger than life bobble type head. In speaking of this effect, KNITWIT said, “I wanted to make my head bigger so you couldn’t miss it, so you couldn’t look over me no more…. You gotta see me so look out, here I come.” Never forgetting his roots as a drummer, KNITWIT can also be seen banging on buckets, adding character to the overall aspect of the video.

KNITWIT is a native of Southeast San Diego, California who developed an interest for music at a young age. He began playing drums in church at the age of four. Despite the perils of gang life, Knitwit taught himself to also play other instruments to include: piano, keyboard, guitar, and bass. He has been signed to a few labels before creating his own label Thug Face Records.

While breaking down all negative barriers that once existed, Knitwit stamped the industry with his signature style of music which quickly became noticed. His superb engineering skills and uncanny ability to master, perfect and produce ultimately caught the ears of prominent music producers and executives which catapulted him to writing and producing music for Van Damme’s, Kickboxer “Vengeance With that said, KNITWIT has experienced collaborating, touring with and producing some of music’s “A” list artists. Amongst them legendary Natalie Cole, R&B sensation Montell Jordan, Grammy Award Winner, Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs n Harmony, gospel artist, B. Slade formerly known as Tonex and multi-platinum producer, Tony C.

His phenomenal detail and dedication has been rewarded by joining Seasons 1 and 2 of the highly acclaimed Fox television show Empire(which he earned his gold record), and Fox’s newly famed series, Star and Lethal Weapon.

Regardless of his considerably busy schedule, Knitwit who is devout Christian, sees the plight of urban youth. Growing up in the inner city himself and a father of two sons, the youth inspire him daily to combat societal contradictions through music resulting in change, hope and solutions. Having acquired credibility for his integrity, humility and knowledge, KNITWIT is respectfully known to his peers and professional associates as a “T.H.U.G.” an acronym for “True Soldier Humbly Under God,” due to his pronounced lifestyle that has proven total dedication to God as well as his music.

KNITWIT gives back to his community as well by making an effort to educate the youth of Southeast San Diego regarding the menaces of gang violence and urban myths by way of his non-traditional storytelling method. KNITWIT quotes, “My ministry is to reach the youth that are lost, but mostly stubborn just as I once was.” In addition to being a role model, Knitwit has created his Annual POP-UP Christmas Toy Drive in Southeast San Diego allowing under privileged children the opportunity to receive gifts around the holiday season. He quotes, “I am truly blessed and want to continue being a blessing to those less fortunate.”

The clothing industry has become his newest accomplishment with the creation of ChartOne fashion apparel. The line currently offers jackets, shirts, yoga pants, beanies, socks, slippers with more to come.
