0LANY’s Paul Jason Klein On The Upcoming “Mama’s Boy” Album, Dan Wilson, Influences & More
The international breakthrough for the musical trio known as LANY — comprised of Paul Jason Klein, Jake Clifford Goss and Charles Leslie Priest — came with its 2017 self-titled debut, based on hits like “ILYSB,” “Good Girls” and “It Was Love.” The group’s 2018 follow-up Malibu Nights yielded more hits (e.g. “Thru These Tears”), also hitting the Top 40 on U.S. Billboard Album Chart and connecting in a huge way across the globe. Currently, LANY has a social media following of 5.8 million people, have sold over 415,000 tickets worldwide and have tallied over 430 million music video views (and counting).
The forthcoming third full-length for LANY is Mama’s Boy. Earlier this month, LANY released another single from the album, “if this is the last time.” Its accompanying music video features all three band members candidly interacting with their parents. Meanwhile, the Mama’s Boy album as a whole features collaborations with a lot of high-profile artists, including Dan Smyers of Dan + Shay; Shane McAnall, songwriting power couple Sasha Sloan and King Henry, and Adele co-writer Dan Wilson.
I had the pleasure of interviewing LANY’s Paul Jason Klein about Mama’s Boy, music influences, future plans and plenty more. More on Klein and LANY can be found online by visiting www.thisislany.com, www.instagram.com/thisislany and/or www.facebook.com/thisislany.
