OXP link up with Horace Brown in ‘Want You To Love Me’

In a burst of 90s hip-hop nostalgia, producer Onra and multi-instrumentalist Pomrad join forces as OXP. Forging an old-skool sound, the pair have linked up Motown legend Horace Brown for ‘Want You To Love Me’. Listen below:

Discussing the release, OXP explain:

It’s quite an incredible achievement to have a song with the legendary and oh so rare Horace Brown. Given the chance to have a song featuring him, we had no other choice but to give our best to create a classic mid-90’s R&B/Hip-Hop track.

Hailing from different backgrounds, Onra and Pomrad pair share similar musical influences, starting with a love of hip-hop, jazz, and funk. After collaborating on Onra’s 2018 Nobody Has To Know album, which helped Onra get up to 65 million Spotify streams, the duo discussed the idea of working together in the studio by combining Onra’s masterful production skills with Pomrad’s composition talent. Their vision is to make classics with a contemporary sound; conceptualised around the vintage synths and drum machines that marked the Golden Era of 90’s Hip-Hop, R&B, and G-Funk.
