Rdgldgrn Release New Single “Good Life” Ft. UK Pop Singer Vanela

Independent group RDGLDGRN (pronounced Red Gold Green) release their new single “Good Life” featuring UK pop singer Vanela today — stream on all platforms HERE. The song exclusively premiered on EARMILK Thursday, July 16th – read the full article HERE. “Good Life” is a summer anthem with a skippy cadence that tells the band’s story and vision of the carefree yet meaningful life they are working towards, a 2020 multicultural American Dream. The group aims to share the message that, “a good life is not something that you don’t have or need to aspire to have. It’s something you can recognize within your current situation wherever you are.” Longtime collaborator Vanela lends her vocals to the catchy chorus. “Good Life” has already been licensed by EA’s Sims 4 and translated into the Simlish language by the band – check out the Simlish version HERE.

On the inspiration behind the new song, the group shared, “The song came about whilst writing songs for our third album in Virginia during a studio session with producer/songwriter Dave Lichens. Gold brought this cinematic chord idea to the session and it instantly inspired us to build a track around it with drums, bass and guitar. That gave us the idea to write about appreciating the life that you have versus always looking forward or for things you don’t have. When we originally finished the song, we had come up with a chorus but we didn’t feel like it hit right. So we sent it to Vanela, who is based in the UK, and asked her to write a sweet hook using the concept ‘Good Life’, as she had previously always delivered at a high level. The next day she sent us a fully written chorus which made the entire song magical.”

RDGLDGRN kicked off 2020 with the release of their song “Danger” which features Brooklyn’s hottest female lyricist Nitty Scott and Romanian singer Alexandra Stan and speaks of a dangerous girl backed by an addicting, reggae-influenced beat. The group followed it up with the release of their live album “Red Gold Green Live”, and single “Everybody’s Living In A Trap” in April, and “Surfin”, which imagines a world hopping whirlwind romance, in early July.

About RDGLDGRN:

RDGLDGRN (pronounced Red Gold Green) are an independent group who integrate elements of hip-hop, rock and go-go music to concoct an original sound. Each member of the band was raised in a different version of the immigrant’s tale to find a better life on American soil. Pierre Desrosiers (a/k/a King Green, vocals) is the son of Haitian immigrants from the 1970s. Andrei Busuioceanu Jr. (a/k/aGold, bass) arrived in America when he was 5 from Romania. Marcus Parham (a/k/a Red, guitars) is an African-American raised as a global citizen attending high school in Ghana and lived extensively overseas. In 2013, RDGLDGRN caught the attention of legendary rockstar Dave Grohl while recording in the studio and he was immediately sold. He connected them with veteran producer Kevin Augunas to record their debut self-titled LP under Universal Republic in the same year. The album led to international touring and creative collaborations with Pharrell Williams (“Do It the Most”), Eminem & Method Man (“Caterpillar”) and many others. After the first record, RGG left the major label system to develop an independent, artistic vision through Deuce Day World, their label, both for music and fashion. The group has been cranking out music ever since and have been featured in publications such as Rolling Stone, NPR, EARMILK, and Brooklyn Vegan. Their new single “Good Life” is out now.
