Sinbad On July 11th’s “AGAPAO LIVE” Event, His Musical Roots, Future Plans, Work Ethic & More

Beyond finding success within television and film projects, Sinbad has been one of the top American stand-up comedians over the last 30-something years. The winner of numerous awards — including several honors from the NAACP Image Awards — Sinbad is also a published author and well-respected within the tech community for being one of the first entertainers to really embrace Apple computers. The original permanent host of Showtime At The Apollo, Sinbad has also been instrumental in getting the careers of numerous other entertainers started. All of this following U.S. military service.

Sinbad will be one of the 100+ artists participating in AGAPAO LIVE, a worldwide streaming pay-per-view event, set for next Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 12:00 to 6:00 pm PST / 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM EST. This six-hour event will be live-streamed on the hottest new urban online network, Xperienc On Demand. Plans are underway for the first-ever collaboration between Snoop Dogg and Billy Ray Cyrus on a new song, which will have its world premiere on the global streaming AGAPAO LIVE concert. Other performances sure to rivet viewers include 2Chainz, DC Young Fly, Johnny Gill, YK Osiris, Lisa Raye, Lenny Williams, Case, Ro James, Izzy, Deitrick Haddon, KiKi Shepard, Keyla Richardson, Titus, Last Call, Jokia Williams, JJ Hairston, Carlos Mencia, Michael Colyar, Paul Rodriguez, Bruce Bruce, and DC Young Fly. Pre-order discounted tickets are available now for $9.99 at www.xodlive.com/watch-live.

I had the absolute pleasure — and I do say “absolute pleasure” — of speaking with Sinbad via Zoom on July 1, 2020 about AGAPAO LIVE, his musical roots, Detroit, future plans, and more. Life may currently be on hold for him as a stand-up performer in front of crowds, but Sinbad has not slowed down his writing. Our full chat is embedded below for your listening pleasure, while more on Sinbad can be found online via www.twitter.com/sinbadbad and www.facebook.com/Sinbadbad.
