His latest long-form project Paradox is a nine-piece exploration of sound that takes the listener on a pretty adventurous ride. If you are a fan of EDM, he’s worth taking a listen too!

The Hype Magazine got him to weigh in on a few things

From the outside looking in, who is Swattrex?

Swattrex ( Swatej Agrawal) is a 22 years old ” Delhi, India ” based music producer/ DJ. He has  released 55 + tracks till now, crossed 21 million + independently streams across all music platforms

From making music in his bedroom in 2016 to performing at the biggest music festivals in 2020 across India, Swattrex is just a normal guy who is following his passion and trying to connect with people through his art.

What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?

‌During high school, Some friends of Swattrex introduced him to EDM.  Swattrex got so inspired by Teisto and Avici playing at Ultra, Miami. During this period, EDM has become his personal fav genre to listen during free time. Then he started exploring different genres in EDM and other sub-genres.

At that time, he was preparing for one of the biggest engineering exams in India (IIT – JEE). But after not getting selected in IIT JEE. Swattrex got in a depression phase, at that, the EDM worked as a healer for swattrex. Swattrex started researching about music production,

In the first year of his graduation(2016), he started learning music production, and music theory from YouTube. Music really helped Swattrex to recover from depression. he started exploring different creative works like art, designing, sports, and music. He started making music on his laptop using Fl studio in his bedroom. He learned full music production via YouTube. YouTube has played a major role as his mentor in his music career. He learned sound design, music theory, and everything else in music from YouTube and blogs. He started doing ghost production for different artists and started releasing his own tracks independently.

By these, his journey started as a music producer in the industry.

What do you want people to get from your music?

Music is a way of expressing your feelings to your audience and the artist puts his soul in every art he makes. Swattrex is just trying to entertain his audience by experimenting in different genres in music. From commercial POP to heavy bass music. Swattrex has released 55+ tracks till now with over 21million+ streams in total.

For new listeners, what song of yours would you pick as an introduction to you as an artist?

One of the songs “GONNA FALL” released via GROOVENEXUS  is one of my favorite songs that I have released till now. This song can be considered as the best song by Swattrex which introduced his own style to the audience

Tell us a bit about your work and passions OUTSIDE of music…

The craziest moment was from one of his last show when the CDJ controller stopped working between show due to some technical issue. That moment the crowd just got so crazy that they started singing without music. That moment was one of the most memorable and craziest moments in his live shows.
