0Actress Lauren Swickard On “A California Christmas,” Writing, Future Career Plans & More
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lauren Swickard — formerly Lorynn York — excelled in the arts from a young age. She trained as a dancer at the prestigious School of American Ballet in New York City and at the Chautauqua Institute in New York, starting her professional acting career in high school with a small role on the JJ Abrams-related TV movie, Shelter. You may recognize her from Netflix’s Dear White People, the film Airplane Mode, and Netflix’s Roped, to name just a few key projects of hers.
Lauren Swickard recently wrapped production for her upcoming film, A California Christmas, as slated for a 4th Quarter 2020 release. In addition to starring opposite her real-life husband (and General Hospital star) Josh Swickard, the film also marks Swickard’s debut as a screenwriter and co-producer.
