Buffalo Rapper Jess Classic Recruits Tory Lanez For New Single “Fifty”

Buffalo, NY recording artist Jess Classic is no stranger to the big leagues. Dropping hit after hit, he’s definitely ready for the pros. The Buffalo-native has undoubtedly earned himself a slot in the Next To Blowcategory; recruiting Tory Lanez for his latest. We sat down with the rapper to discuss his new single, his musical inspirations and what fans can look forward to in 2020.

Tell me more about your new single “Fifty”. What is it about and what inspired you to write it?

Jess Classic: The song is about coming up and knowing your worth. People don’t believe things until they see them. I’m showing them that this is real and that anything is possible coming from where am from. A lot people downplay the things we do “Haters” they call them so this song was made for all those who don’t know there worth.

How was it working with Tory Lanez?? Why did you specifically pick him for this track?

Jess Classic: The song fifty was already made with the hook I was looking for some big features and One of my boys in the industry played it for me he’s good friends with Tory so he linked us together.

How did you get your start in music?

Jess Classic: I’ve been writing since a child 11 years old. I always knew I was special so I never gave up on my dreams… I guess you can say the things I’ll accomplish haven’t even really started. It’s a long road, seen and been a lot of places but looking forward to the next new beginning.

How do you think being from Buffalo has changed your sound?

Jess Classic: Buffalo doesn’t have much to do with my sound traveling and being apart of different cultures is what helped create who I am now. This place was a foundation for growth not so much my music.

What is your proudest accomplishment in music so far?

Jess Classic: Being here with you right now.

Who are some of your biggest musical inspirations?

Jess Classic: Jay-Z and Nas are my two biggest inspirations. I feel I’m a mix between the both a perfect combination of them.

How have you been staying creative during COVID? What are some negatives and some positives that have come out of it?
