Carsen Says What We’re All Feeling With “Losing My” Single and Music Video

Rising Pop/R&B singer-songwriter Carsen wrestles with her all-too-familiar self-doubt in poignant single and accompanying visual “Losing My”.

The sweet yet somber record details her “Me vs. Me” mentality and the challenges that come with being both ambitious and sensitive. “I’m losing my sh*t / I need a break from you / Don’t tell me what, tell me what, tell me what I can’t do,” she urges herself.

“”Losing My” is about the struggle with anxiety and the self-doubt that comes along with it. It’s a way of saying “f*** you” to the voice in your head that’s telling you you’re not good enough.” – Carsen

The imaginative visual shows an emboldened Carsen facing her doubts head on and walking away from insecurity once and for all, strutting into a new era that is firm and unwavering.

Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Carsen grew up playing competitive soccer. She was recruited to play at the Division 1 level for TCU, but unexpectedly suffered a severe concussion that ended her career a few months after arriving at the university. In order to get through the difficult time, Carsen began writing her own songs and put all of her focus into music. Her style is an eclectic mix of R&B/pop and has caught the ears of many people around the world. Carsen’s voice has a soulful tone and she is heavily inspired by artists in the realm of Kehlani, Daniel Caesar, Kevin Garrett and more. Carsen relocated to LA at the top of 2020 and has been working relentlessly to hone in on her new emerging sound.

Carsen has also performed as an official artist at SXSW 2019 and has been highlighted by numerous Spotify playlists, such as, Fresh Finds, Brand New Chill, Pop Right Now, New Music Friday Norway, New Music Friday Denmark, Just Soft, New Talent and more.
