Latin Pop Artist Maluma Expresses Heartbreak In New Single “Hawái”

Columbian pop artist Maluma released his new music video “Hawái” this week, a dramatic tale of heartbreak that shows he’ll do just about anything to get his girl back. The melodic pop track delivers relatable messaging about a toxic relationship – the toxicity seems to continue on even after the breakup, as she posts photos with her new boo only to make Maluma jealous. The video begins with Maluma drinking his feelings at a bar as he reflects on past arguments with his ex lover. We graduate to a series shots that make it very clear that neither Maluma nor his ex are very happy in their current situation.

Maluma watches his ex appearing happy in her new relationship, as she posts videos and photos on her Instagram almost to spite him. We quickly discover that she is in fact not authentically happy in her new relationship, but she’s willing to ignore it all the way up until her wedding day. Much like the common film trope, Maluma decides to crash her wedding only to be thrown out by bouncers and security guards. But it works! He successfully shakes up her world until she comes running back; what happens at the end will truly shock you.

“Hawái” follows Maluma’s chart-topping “ADMV” (Amor De Mi Vida) single which scored him his 16 No. 1 on Billboard‘s Latin Airplay tally. His forthcoming album is said to release later on this year, with “Hawái” being the first single. Maluma is considered by specialized critics as one of the most impactful urban music artists in Latin America, winner of countless awards and recognitions in the world of music. Be sure to give his new single a listen today!
