Lauren Monroe & Def Leppard’s Rick Allen On The New “Big Love” EP, Project Resiliency & More

While the debut full-length album from Lauren Monroe was 2008’s The Freedom Sessions, Monroe has been singing professionally long before that. Part of 1999’s Chakra Chants Vol. 1, the double Visionary Award Winner for “Album Of The Year” and “Best Healing-Meditation Album,” Monroe has also been active within the international healing community, authoring 21 Ways To Resiliency and Back To Earth.

The latest release from Lauren Monroe is 2020’s Big Love EP. Densely-textured and imaginatively-layered, Monroe helmed the studio effort alongside legendary producer Jim Scott. Other participants within the Big Love sessions include drummer Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), lead guitarist Waddy Wachtel (Keith Richards, Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks), drummer Rick Allen (Def Leppard), bassist Bob Glaub (Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt) and drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Cougar Mellencamp, John Fogerty). Beyond those impressive roster, a significant portion of the proceeds from Big Love will be donated back to Project Resiliency via Lauren Monroe and Rick Allen’s acclaimed charitable foundation the Raven Drum Foundation.

As embedded, I had the pleasure of interviewing both Lauren Monroe and Rick Allen about Big Love, successfully working together while being happily married, future plans beyond Big Love, Def Leppard and plenty more via Zoom on August 5, 2020.
