Meet Rising Soul Singer Drew Vision

Part of the fun of this gig is running across artists that make vividly see in your mind’s eye exactly where they are coming from. I got a bar of the incredibly talented R&B/soul artist Drew Vision and his live vocals and was totally floored.  He just released his new single “Stay”, in support of the Black Lives Matter movement which is a full ride in respect to range and depth, plus the picture he paints hits home in a major way. This is an artist we can see going far into the future and making that “forever music”!

The Hype Magazine got Drew to weigh in on a few things

From the outside looking in, who is the artist Drew Vision?

A soul singer.  Having grown up singing in church with family, I was developing soulful vocals and harmonies at a very early age and both are big factors in every record I make.

What brought you to the entertainment industry and the music business specifically?

I was born for it.  In actual fact, I was born with relative pitch and all I have ever wanted to do is to spread positivity throughout the world using this gift.  I am living in my purpose.

What do you want people to get from your music?

Mostly I just want people to be moved.  To feel something.  To be inspired.  Lyrically I write a lot about balance and I want people to realize that they are ok just the way they are.

Tell us about your current project and what it means for you!

The meaning behind this project has evolved over time.  Originally it was meant as a slight transition musically and the opportunity to showcase my vocal abilities.  However, after 13 months of working on the song and all of the impact that 2020 has had on our lives, I reinterpreted the meaning of the song to be a tribute to #blacklivesmatter.  Probably one of the more meaningful projects I have worked on.

For new listeners, what song of yours would you pick as an introduction to you as an artist?

My new single “Stay” is the best representation of my voice.  However, I would probably pick “Rumors”.   The entire experience is my vibe.

Tell us a bit about your work and passions OUTSIDE of music…

I am fortunate enough to also be a model, and that helps fund my music.  I am in acting class and really enjoying that.  I’m also really into race car driving.

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” aka WTF?! moment…

To be honest, it happens on the regular in LA.  Just recently I was eating breakfast outside in DTLA and a bum tried to sell me an opened box of condoms…and at a premium price of $30!  lol

Bonus – Check out Drew Vision live in the booth…
