Oath Pizza’s Tianna Alfieri On Its Great Pizza, Cookies, Meal Kits, Future Company Plans & More

Oath Pizza takes pride in offering what it calls “100% feel-good pizza.” Beyond its light avocado oil crust, you can expect thoughtfully sourced ingredients from Oath Pizza. In addition to its physical locations in Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington D.C., Oath Pizza also ships meal kits through its website. Shipping nationwide, this delicious pizza company has a Classic Cheese Pizza Meal Kit available; the “4 pack” edition of the Classic Cheese Pizza Care Package, priced at $60, is intended to feed 4 to 6 folks, including 4 Chocolate Chunk Cookies beyond the pizza. And I’m sure reading that now has you hungry.

To learn more about Oath Pizza’s past, present and future, I had the pleasure of doing Q&A with Tianna Alfieri, Oath Pizza’s Director, Growth Partnerships & Marketing Operations via e-mail. Below are the results of that interview, while more on Oath Pizza can be found via www.oathpizza.com.

To someone who hasn’t enjoyed Oath Pizza before, how would you describe it?

Tianna Alfieri: We serve light, fresh, personal craft pizzas you can indulge in and still feel good about.

Is there something about Oath Pizza that you feel makes it a “better” or “different” pizza than that of other brands in the space?

Tianna Alfieri: Oath’s award-winning crust is hand-stretched and grilled in avocado oil, creating a unique pizza experience that exists nowhere else. Each pizza is topped with fresh, thoughtfully sourced, humanely raised ingredients and quick-cooked to perfection for a convenient and guilt-free indulgence. We also offer the ability to make your own Selfie pizzas, which allows for customizable creations that serve all tastes and preferences – including individuals with a dairy-free, gluten-free or vegan diet.

Are the offerings of Oath Pizza identical all over the country? Same vendors? Same ingredients for the meal kits?

Tianna Alfieri: All of Oath’s recipes, vendors, and ingredients are the same at each location, as well as for our meal kits. Some locations may have varying menus or different limited time offers.

Do you have a favorite pie from Oath Pizza?

Tianna Alfieri: I’ve loved many of our limited time offers over the years, but my favorite menu staple has to be the Muffled Trushroom – house-made truffle sauce, creamy ricotta, roasted mushrooms, mozzarella and grana padano cheese. It’s melt-in-your-mouth umami that’s so good!

Oath Pizza also has great cookies. Is it the same people behind the cookies as the pizza?

Tianna Alfieri: We use Sweet Street cookie dough for our chocolate chunk cookies that we bake fresh daily in-house. Sweet Street’s products are free from any preservatives or artificial ingredients and are sustainably sourced, not to mention mind-blowingly delicious, so it was a perfect fit for Oath.

Is there an Oath Pizza company accomplishment you’re most proud of?

Tianna Alfieri: I was the first employee brought on board by our co-founders, so I’m happy to say in the 5+ years we’ve been operating, Oath has been able to maintain the original “heart” of what the business was founded on. Our founders always wanted Oath to be more than just a pizza company – a catalyst for something bigger to make a true positive impact on the world. Our continuing mission of inspiring happiness in our teams, guests & communities every single day is still at the heart of all we do and is most clearly seen through our philanthropic partnerships, people-forward brand and operating standards, and community engagement.

Did COVID-19 change anything long-term for Oath Pizza?

Tianna Alfieri: We were fortunate enough at Oath to have focused on our online ordering and delivery channels for the past two years, so we have been able to weather this storm better than most in meeting our customers at their comfort level and by providing many contactless options. We knew online ordering and delivery would be the popular choice in the future, which is why we focused so heavily on it, but we didn’t anticipate it coming this quickly.

Food safety has also been a top priority for us since day one, but we have doubled down on those standards and we have implemented physical distancing measures in all locations — I believe that is here to stay for awhile. We were also able to transform our food truck into a contactless experience in one month, allowing customers to order from our app and pick-up their order from a shelf outside of the truck. This enabled us to visit hospitals to donate lunch to doctors, nurses and staff and to schedule pop-ups outside of apartment buildings to provide a new food option during the shelter-in-place time frame. We also launched meal kits within 3 weeks, which can be ordered from our website and ship nationwide and we are pleased in how that product line has evolved and grown.

What is coming up for Oath Pizza in the coming months?

Tianna Alfieri: While we continue to maximize our existing operations and sales channels in-store, online, and with meal kits, we continue to plan for growth through additional franchise and license partnerships. We are especially excited about some non-traditional retail partnerships coming up — stay tuned!

As an entertainment-related outlet, I feel the need to ask: What was the last concert you attended before the pandemic hit?

Tianna Alfieri: This is not necessarily a concert, but I went to a friend’s wedding right before the pandemic and I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to being back with groups of family and friends, eating catered food, and dancing the night away again!

Finally, Tianna, any last words for the kids?

Tianna Alfieri: Don’t let your dreams be dreams!
