0Watch: LA-Based Artist YungGwop Shares ‘Without You’ Visual
Los Angeles-based artist YungGwop is heating things up this summer — this time with the latest release of his music video for “Without You.”
The visual, which was filmed in New York City, is the lead single from his upcoming album called Thoughts Left Unexpressed, and shows the rapper/singer in various parts of New York talking about the things he is able to accomplish without a specific someone in his life.
“Baby I don’t need you/ Counting up without you,” YungGwop raps on the beat.
The song shows off a new side of YungGwop and reveals what fans have not seen from him yet. He gets vulnerable and honest about his past experiences, but makes it clear that he is leveling up.
Prior to pursuing a career in the music industry, YungGwop has worked as a sound engineer for several prominent artists. Now, he’s dedicating himself to his passions and is on a continuous flow of releasing music and videos.
Gwop lists Lil Wayne as one of his musical influences, but says that he’s really just inspired by himself.
“Honestly, I just be myself,” he said. “I don’t try to talk about sh-t I’ve never done and I talk about experiences I’ve had so I guess I can describe my sound as R&B hooks and cadences with hip hop elements.”
Recently, YungGwop released a 20-track project called Phases, where he discusses some of the life phases that he went through and has experienced. With its upbeat vibes and consistent delivery throughout, ‘Phases’ is a strong addition to YungGwop’s discography to date. His previous release Something to Prove continues to be a testament to his talents and showcases his ability as an individual who delivers a promising flow.
