Who Is Emerging Artist Beni Moun?

Back Story – A brand new find for us, Beni Moun is here to change the definition of “Music.” This soon to be a legend is a musical carpenter who began his career at the young age of 14-years old. With the curiosity of what it took to build things from the ground up this Haitian-American genius rerouted his love for structural engineering and ended up falling in love with musical engineering instead.
“When you first start off, there are many things that can inspire you, mine was my environment,” –Beni Moun
Born in Palm Beach, Florida, Beni was not really exposed to a diverse community. His goal became creating an atmosphere of music that would one day be a planet of diverse excellence floating alongside some music’s most legendary innovators. Visionaries like Hans Zimmer, George Benson, Kassav, and Kanye West to name a few. So, he started to produce music from a structural engineering perspective. With one goal in mind, at the time, Beni’s creative niche was not necessarily to create tracks for artists to write on. He wanted to compose and build scores that would evoke emotions that would last a lifetime. Once he moved to Orlando, Florida at 20-years old he picked up the guitar and meshed it with the piano, which then led to an even bigger and better sound. This newfound sound was conceived by the inspiration of yet again, his environment.
Beni’s new single My Yute featuring Jackboy gives us an inkling of what could yet be to come for this rising personality. The joint is fun but has some fire to it as well and will probably have you singing along by the refrain!
The Hype Magazine got Beni Moun to weigh in on a few things
From the outside looking in, who is Beni Moun?
Beni Moun is a music producer learning to be an artist at it’s purest form.
What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?
Growing up, music was my only way out of reality. I would produce tracks that sounded like movie soundtracks, I wanted to create space that didn’t exist for me at the time, I’d say that’s what led me here.
What do you want people to get from your music?
I just want whoever that’s listening to be inspired in some way or form, especially that one kid in the hood who’s dreams are different. My job is to let them know that’s okay.
Tell us about your current project.
It’s definitely inspired by the bittersweet of life and love.
For new listeners, what song of yours would you pick as an introduction to you as an artist?
Tough question only because my music comes in many forms. But based on what’s out right now, I’d say “Bleed”.
Tell us a bit about your work and passions OUTSIDE of music…
I’m currently learning the fundamentals of tech & design, it’s something I’ve been neglecting for a while. But I believe that now is the best time to learn these things because the future is here now.
Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” aka WTF?! Moment…
Whenever I hear someone say “racism/slavery was in the past, get over it?” WTF!
