With her raw and infectious releases, Rose Bonica has made not only made a name for herself in the South African music scene, but also delved into the European scene. As well as a Boiler Room video premiere, she also made her Berlin debut at Salon Zur Wilden Renate, alongside Éclair Fifi and Oliver Hafenbauer.

Last year, her Upperberry Vibrations mix has been featured by Crack Magazine with the words: “Named for a particularly hardy type of rose, the Cape Town producer Rose Bonica wears her chosen name snugly, blending a penchant for tender melodies with rattling, cacophonous drums”.

Having launched her own label, Roses Are Red Records, one of the rare female-owned labels in South Africa, Bonica is now releasing her own debut album, ‘Tears For The Tea Maker’.

‘Tears for the Tea Maker’is a culmination of two years of introspection, experiences and music production. Honest, emotional, experimental and raw.

Her passion and intensity are the driving force behind her success- underneath the self-deprecating banter and nervous laughter is an artist who is aware of her capabilities.

Tears For The Tea Maker‘ will be released on the 18th September, pre-order the album here.
