A Look At Hennessy’s “Make Your Move” Event With Maurice Ashley & The Wu Tang Clan’s RZA & GZA

Up from the 36 Chambers, it’s the RZA, GZA… iamBrandon? Nate Hill? and Maurice Ashley?

Awkward article introduction aside, get ready for Hennessy Presents: Make Your Move, a celebrity chess tournament that will push the limits of the mind with some of your favorite hip hop legends. GZA and RZA of the Wu Tang Clan, along with top Twitch streamers Nate Hill and iamBrandon, will face off in a blitz style chess tournament to celebrate National Chess Day and Hennessy’s latest Wild Rabbit Campaign alike. This event will include special appearances by Nas.

The event will be taking place live on October 10, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM EST where competitors will spit their game and make their moves with the goal to reach the final match against the first black chess grandmaster Maurice Ashley. Ashley is the hero of Hennessy’s latest Wild Rabbit campaign that focuses on cognitive excellence and pushing the limits of the mind. This cultural experience will be streamed via Chess.com’s Twitch channel, reaching the largest chess community on the world’s #1 gaming site. There will be analysis and interviews between the following matches:

– Match 1: Nate Hill v iamBrandon
– Match 2: RZA v GZA
– Semi-Final: Match 1 winner vs. Match 2 winner
– Final Match: Maurice Ashley vs. Semi-final winner

And in the spirit of Hennessy Presents: Make Your Move, here are the ingredients from cocktail known as the Hennessy Grandmaster, as inspired by Maurice Ashley:

– 1.5 oz. Hennessy Very Special
– 3.5 oz. Ginger Beer
– Garnish: Lime Wedge and/or Fresh Ginger Slices

Method to make the Hennessy Grandmaster:
– Pour the Hennessy cognac and ginger beer into a rocks glass with ice.
– Garnish with a lime wedge or slices of fresh ginger.
