Adam Ferrara On Playing Mohegan Sun, His Podcast, Guitar, His Long Island Roots & More

For stand-up comedy fans, Adam Ferrara has been an important headliner for over 2 decades. He has appeared multiple times on all of the late night staples (e.g. The Tonight Show, The Late Show), had highly-rated comedy specials, and has been a regular on a lot of radio shows. He continues to keep active as a comic, performing a weekend full of headlining shows this weekend at the Comix Roadhouse venue within Mohegan Sun and recently releasing the album It’s Scary In Here.

But plenty of people primarily know Adam Ferrara as an actor and host, and not for his stand-up success. For example, Adam was one of the hosts of the American adaptation of Top Gear; the original U.K. version of which arguably being the world’s most popular TV show. Adam played Chief “Needles” Nelson on several seasons of the Emmy-nomination show Rescue Me. He was NYPD Sgt. Frank Verelli on nearly 2 dozen episodes of Nurse Jackie. He can currently be seen in a recurring role within the CBS All Access series Why Women Kill, while also hosting the popular The Adam Ferrara Podcast.

Earlier in the week, I had the pleasure of speaking with Adam Ferrara via Zoom, as embedded below. We discussed his history with Mohegan Sun, his Long Island roots, his dual existence as a top stand-up comic and in-demand dramatic actor, life during COVID-19, the recent passing of Eddie Van Halen, and plenty more. One of the funniest interviews I have taped this year, even if Ferrara always errs on the side of honesty. Which is exactly what you get when listening to Adam Ferrara’s podcast.
