0JuJu Chan On Her New Film “Jiu Jitsu,” Future Projects, New York, Staying In Great Shape & More
In the new film Jiu Jitsu — due out on November 20, 2020 — an ancient order of Jiu Jitsu fighters faces a vicious race of alien invaders in an epic battle for the survival of Earth. Jiu Jitsu stars the ensemble cast of Alain Moussi (Kickboxer: Retaliation, Kickboxer: Vengeance), Frank Grillo (The Purge: Election Year, Captain America: Civil War), Rick Yune (Alita: Battle Angel, Olympus Has Fallen), Marie Avgeropoulos (The 100, 50/50), JuJu Chan (Wu Assassins, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword Of Destiny), Tony Jaa (Ong-Bak franchise, Furious 7) and Nicolas Cage (Mandy, National Treasure franchise). The film was co-written by Dimitri Logothetis (Kickboxer: Retaliation, Kickboxer: Vengeance) and Jim McGrath (Kickboxer: Retaliation) and directed by the aforementioned Logothetis.
The aforementioned JuJu Chan is a Hong Kong-born American actress, martial artist, model, singer and writer. Dubbed by some as the “female Bruce Lee,” Chan began martial arts at the age of 10. She first started in Judo, then went on to learn Shotokan karate, Wushu, Hung Ga, Wing Chun, Nunchaku, ITF Taekwondo (in which she became a member the Hong Kong National Team) and Muay Thai. While she had acted prior to landing the lead role, she made many people take note with 2009’s Lumina.
On November 11, 2020, I had the pleasure of interviewing JuJu Chan via Zoom, as embedded below. We spoke about the film Jiu Jitsu and plenty more. More information about Chan and Jiu Jitsu can be found online via facebook.com/JiuJitsuMovie, highlandfilmgroup.com and twitter.com/JuJu_Chan.
