Simply Organic’s Blueberry Ginger Cooler Mocktail

Simply Organic — the “one stop shop” for spices, seasonings and herbs — has helmed an interesting mocktail: the Blueberry Ginger Cooler Mocktail. This sweet and aromatic mocktail mixes the sweetness of fresh blueberries with the refreshing bite of ginger, making for the perfect cocktail pairing that’ll quench your thirst with complexities of a well-balanced cocktail, without the booze.

Ingredients:
– 1 teaspoon Simply Organic Ginger Root Ground 1.64 oz.
– 1 cup water
– ¾ cup sugar
– 1 cup blueberries
– ½ cup freshly squeeze lime juice
– 1 cup seltzer

Method:
– In a small sauce pot over medium-high heat, make a simple syrup by combining water, ¾ cup sugar and ginger.
– Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
– Remove from heat and let cool.
– In a food processor, add blueberries and lime juice.
– Puree until smooth, then press mixture through a fine mesh sieve to discard solids.
– In a bowl with a pour spout, add cooled simple syrup and blueberry mixture and stir to combine.
– Fill 2 glasses with ice.
– Divide mixture evenly into glasses.
– Top off with seltzer.

To reduce the sugar content per serving, you can use less of the simple syrup. Reducing the sugar in the simple syrup alters the consistency of the simple syrup.

Slane Irish Whiskey x Red Bay Coffee

In celebration of National Irish Coffee Day on January 25th, Slane Irish Whiskey collaborated with specialty coffee roaster Red Bay Coffee for a custom whiskey-inspired coffee, the Oakland Irish Roast. The coffee roast not only pairs well with the notes of Slane Irish Whiskey. Commented Keba Konte, founder of Red Bay Coffee: “When Slane Irish Whiskey invited us to partner, we knew it was more than just an epicurean fit, but a cultural fit too. We’re 2 brands looking to create a lasting legacy for our communities and families with high quality products and a dedication to sustainability and inclusivity for both our employees and our consumers.” For more information about Slane Irish Whiskey and to discover Slane Irish coffee cocktail recipes, visit www.SlaneIrishWhiskey.com.

The installation was created using 2,600 authentic, physical diplomas provided by real college graduates across the country. Da Vinci Of Debt celebrates the return of the Natural Light College Debt Relief program, which launched in 2018. Each year, the program provides $1 million to help students and graduates who are weighed down by the burden of debt. Now entering year 4 of its 10-year, $10 million commitment, Natty discloses the “highly-classified” plan behind its $100 diploma rentals in 2020 as it unveils the stunning exhibit.

Earlier this month Bud Light Seltzer launched the newest innovation from the Bud Light Seltzer portfolio, Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade. Following the successful launch and expansion of Bud Light Seltzer last year, the brand has introduced the seltzer-based liquid packed with bold, bubbly, lemonade flavor. Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade is available in 12 oz. slim can variety 12-packs with 4 delicious new flavors including Original Lemonade, Black Cherry Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade and Peach Lemonade. Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade is packed with real lemonade to give it loads of lemon flavor and is brewed with cane sugar and natural fruit flavors, coming in at 100 calories with less than 1 gram of sugar and 5 percent ABV. To launch the new product, Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade team created new ads showing what happens when a few unlucky grandkids admit to Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade tasting better than their grandmother’s lemonade in front of their unhappy grannies. The hilariously-“controversial” commercials drive back to the product being packed with a balanced sweet lemonade flavor.

Post Cereal’s PEBBLES Crisps & Honeycomb Big Bites

PEBBLES and Honeycomb cereals are now even easier to snack on as Post recently announced the launch of new Post PEBBLES Crisps and Post Honeycomb Big Bites. The new PEBBLES Crisps are about the same size as a potato chip, and the new Honeycomb Big Bites are about twice the size of the unique Honeycomb cereal shape, ideal for dipping, dunking, popping and packing. Their rigorous commitment to testing has reportedly allowed Precision Botanical to be the first CBD brand ever certified for purity by the Clean Label Project. Precision Botanical’s offerings include offers balms, capsules and — my favorite of the brand’s offerings — gummies.

The Cooper Spirits Company

The Cooper Spirit Co. was founded in 2006 by the late Robert J. Cooper, a third-generation distiller. The company was founded with the introduction of St-Germain, an artisanal French liqueur made from fresh elderflower blossoms, heralded as one of the most influential cocktail components of the last decade by the New York Times. Cooper Spirits produces a portfolio of artisanal products, including Slow & Low Rock & Rye (a rye whiskey-based bottled cocktail), Hochstadter’s Vatted Straight Rye Whiskey (the first rye whiskey to use the vatted designatio), Lock, Stock & Barrel (one of the world’s finest and oldest expressions of 13-year, 16-year, 18-year and 20-year straight rye whiskey) and Crème Yvette (a modern aperitif handcrafted in France and called for by name in vintage cocktail books dating back to 1890). I recently had the pleasure of trying the 20-year offering, ass packed in an opaque black glass bottle. It is ideally enjoyed neat, over a large ice cube, or with a splash of spring water to unlock all the robust flavors. The 20-year is allocated to just 1,000, 3-pack cases, and featuring a proof of 112 (56 percent ABV), as available at specialty retailers nationwide at an SRP of $389.

They can be paired easily with the Mango A-Go-Go (MSPR: $7.85), Vanilla Blue Sky (MSPR: $8.35) and apple n’ greens (MSPR: $8.35) offerings on the Jamba menu. Jamba’s popular offerings as far as Ready-To-Drink Shots go are Ginger (packed with immune-boosting antioxidants), Turmeric (an excellent source of vitamin C and can help fight inflammation) and Wheatgrass (a good source of iron). Something for everyone on the Jamba menu, to say the least.

De La Calle’s Tepache

A sparkling fermented and probiotic pineapple drink, De La Calle’s Tepache takes a modern approach to one of the most beloved drinks in Mexico. Pronounced “teh-pah-chey,” this beverage has been made in Mexico for decades and thousands of versions of tepahe are known to have existed. De La Calle’s offering uses certified organic pineapples and it is delicious. De La Calle’s chief fermenter Rafael Martin Del Campo is a third-generation tepache maker, and he had reportedly studied over 50 versions of tepache to help helm De La Calle’s wares.

Sandeman Founder’s Reserve Port

The House Of Sandeman was founded in London in 1790 by George Sandeman, a determined young Scotsman. From a modest start 200 years ago as a wine merchant in the city of London, to today’s impressive lodges in Oporto and bodegas in Jerez, and the world’s best known brand of Port and Sherry, there has been a continuous commitment to quality. The growth of Sandeman Port and Sherries over two centuries has been based on a balance of tradition and innovation, respecting heritage but always seeking improvement. In 1980, Sandeman became part of Seagram; today, as the 7th generation of the family and Chairman of the old firm, George Sandeman continues the Sandeman commitment to the quality of Sandeman Ports and Sherries, and to the future.

In late 2020, Sandeman unveiled new limited-edition canister for its iconic Founder’s Reserve Port. Sandeman has reinvigorated this pioneering spirit with a modern twist by tapping into the bold creativity of Portuguese artist Mário Belém. Inspired by history and challenged to create his own modern visual representation of Sandeman, Belém, dove into the brand’s rich past to develop original artwork for the new limited-edition gift pack for Sandeman’s Founder’s Reserve Ruby Port. Belém’s art is widely-recognized for its colorful and characteristically playful visual language. In this distinct style and featuring several elements in different scales to give the setting a surreal mood, Belém produced an imaginative piece for Sandeman that depicts a man on a journey, traveling on the historic Sandeman schooner, the Hoopoe, which used to export the companies Port down the Douro river.

Aberlour Single Malt Scotch Whisky

In 2021 we continue to welcome change, and earlier this month Aberlour put together a legendary experience to celebrate Robert Burns. Aberlour brought the epic traditions of a Scottish-style “Burns Night Supper” to a select group of media personalities including myself. As part of this, I had the pleasure of experiencing a “Aberlour Burns Supper Tasting Kit,” which included Aberlour 12YO Single Malt Scotch. As every bit incredible as you would imagine, yes. A few Aberlour-related recipes were recently published in a round-up by The Hype, which you can click on over to here.

Led by husband and wife team Eric and Laura Sorkin, Runamok Maple has published a library of sweet, savory and cocktail recipes on its website. Made with 100 percent pure Vermont maple syrup, Runamok’s new collection of cocktail mixers includes 4 syrups: Maple Old Fashioned, Maple Tonic, Smoked Old Fashioned and Ginger Mule. Runamok has also unveiled 3 different kinds of bitters: Floral Maple, Aromatic Maple, and Orange Maple. The cocktail syrups can easily take the place of simple syrup, and ought to leave cocktail enthusiasts wondering why they had not previously opted for the rich, complex flavors of maple syrup instead. The maple-based cocktail bitters are jam-packed with earthy, botanical flavors and will quickly elevate cocktails with just a few drops. Customers can purchase 250 mL bottles of the cocktail syrups for $16.95 each and 100 mL bottles of the bitters for $11.95 on runamokmaple.com.
