20 Cocktail Recipes For St. Patrick’s Day 2021 & Beyond

Winter 2021 is almost behind us, and now Spring 2021 is just about here, signaling that beach season is just around the corner. On behalf of The Hype Magazine, I have rounded up 20 recipes for mixed drinks from top brands and acclaimed mixologists, as featuring a variety of spirits.

A’PEAR’antly Oblivious

Ingredients:
– 2 slices fresh pear, chopped
– 2 small fresh figs
– 1/4 oz Besamim spiced liqueur
– 1/2 lemon juice
– 1/2 oz simple syrup
– 2 oz McConnell’s Irish Whisky
– 1 egg white

Method:
– Shake all ingredients together for 30-60 seconds.
– Double strain into a chilled coupe.

Tipperary

Ingredients:
– 1.5 oz McConnell’s Irish Whisky
– 1 oz sweet vermouth
– 0.5 oz green chartreuse
– 0.5 oz chilled water
– 1 bar spoon cane sugar syrup
– 2 dashes orange bitters
– Garnish: orange peel wrapped maraschino cherries

Method:
– Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice, and stir until well chilled.
– Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
– Garnish with orange peel wrapped maraschino cherries.

Red Apple Highball

Ingredients:
– 1.5 oz Johnnie Walker Black Label
– 3 oz Apple Juice
– 1.5 oz Fever Tree Ginger Beer
– Glassware: Highball
– Garnish: apple slice

Method:
– Build all ingredients into an ice-filled highball glass.
– Garnish with an apple slice.

Johnnie Walker Lemon Highball

Ingredients:
– 1.5 oz Johnnie Walker Black Label
– 4.5 oz Fever Tree Soda Water
– 1 lemon wedge squeezed
– Glassware: Highball
– Garnish: lemon wedge

Method:
– Combine ingredients in a highball glass over ice and stir.
– Garnish with a lemon peel.

Té Recuerdo Mezcal
For Mardi Gras

Ingredients:
– 1.5 oz Recuerdo Mezcal Joven
– 3 oz black tea
– 1 oz peach juice / nectar
– 0.5 oz lime juice
– 0.5 oz simple syrup
– Club soda
– Garnish: slice of peach, slice of lime

Method:
– Shake all the ingredients except for the club soda over ice.
– Strain and serve into a highball glass with fresh ice.
– Top off with a dash of club soda.
– Garnish with a slice of peach and a slice of lime.

Recuerdo Mezcal Banshee
For St. Patrick’s Day

Ingredients:
– 1.5 oz Recuerdo Mezcal Joven
– 4 peeled pieces of cucumber (2 inch section, quartered), reserving the peel for garnish
– 5 basil leaves
– 2 tablespoons brown sugar
– 1 oz lime juice
– Club soda

Method:
– Muddle the cucumber, basil, brown sugar, and lime juice in a shaker before adding the Recuerdo Mezcal and ice and shaking.
– Strain into an old fashioned glass over fresh ice.
– Top with club soda.
– Garnish with a cucumber peel.

Matcha Margarita
Cointreau fans ought to take note of there being a Cointreau Margarita Escapes Kit available via Cocktail Courier for a limited time only

Ingredients:
– 1 oz Cointreau
– 2 oz Blanco Tequila
– 0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
– 0.5 tsp Matcha Green Tea Powder
– Glass: Old Fashioned
– Garnish: lime slice

Method:
– Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
– Add ice and shake until well-chilled.
– Strain into a chilled Old Fashioned glass.
– Garnish with a lime slice.

Black Gold

Ingredients:
– 2 oz Mount Gay Black Barrel
– 0.05 oz Orgeat
– 0.05 oz Fresh Lime Juice
– 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
– Glass: Nick & Nora (chilled)
– Garnish: lime speel

Method:
– Add all ingredients to a tin, then add ice.
– Shake and strain into chilled Nick & Nora glass.
– Garnish with a lime peel.

Spicy Jalapeno X Volley Margarita

Ingredients:
– 1 can of Zesty Lime Volley Tequila Seltzer
– 1 oz of Mezcal (e.g. Recuerdo)
– 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
– 3/4 oz pineapple juice
– 5-6 slices of green jalapeno.

Method:
– In a tin, muddle jalapenos with ½ oz of lime juice.
– Add 3/4 oz of Pineapple juice, 1 oz of Mezcal, and one can of Zesty Lime Volley.
– Stir all ingredients and pour into a large glass over ice. Enjoy!
– And if you like it extra spicy, add a few dashes of tabasco.

Volley Cucumber Skinny Margarita

Ingredients:
– 1 can of Zesty Lime Volley Tequila Seltzer
– 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
– Sliced limes
– Sliced cucumber
– Pinch of Kosher salt
– Glass: Margarita
– Optional: Salt

Method:
– In a tin, muddle 5 slices of cucumber, 2 lime wedges, and a 1/2 oz of lime juice.
– Add 1 can of Zesty lime Volley Tequila seltzer and a pinch of salt.
– Tumble with ice and pour into your favorite margarita glass.
– Salt the rim in advance (optional).

St-Germain Spritz

Ingredients:
– 2 parts Martini & Rossi
– 1 1/2 parts St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
– 2 parts sparkling water
– Garnish: lemon twist

Method:
– Fill a tall Collins glass with ice.
– Add Martini & Rossi first, then St-Germain, then club soda.
– Stir completely and then garnish with a lemon twist.

Noilly Pray Original Dry Le Sud

Ingredients:
– 2.5 oz Noilly Prat Original Dry
– Chilled sparkling water
– Garnish: Frozen green grapes
– Large ice cubes/spheres

Method:
– Stack ice to the top of the glass.
– Pour Noilly Prat Original Dry over ice and top with sparkling water.
– Garnish with frozen green grapes.

The Golden Dram
also great for St. Patrick’s Day – very own “pot of gold”

Ingredients:
– 2 oz ABERFELDY 12 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
– 1/2 oz Local Honey Syrup (honey syrup = 1 part honey, 1 part water)
– 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
– 2 dashes Orange Bitters
– Garnish: orange twist

Method:
– Add the honey syrup, bitters and ABERFELDY 12 Years Old to a mixing glass, then add ice and stir to dilute (~30 seconds).
– Pour into rocks glass and add block ice.
– Garnish with an orange twist expressing the oils over the drink.

ABERFELDY Golden Crusta

Ingredients:
– 2 oz ABERFELDY 12 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
– 1/4 oz Maraschino Liqueur
– 1/4 oz Lemon Juice
– 1/2 oz Cointreau

Method:
– Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.
– Shake vigorously for ~30 seconds and strain into a golden sugar rimmed glass.

Finnish Mule
Finlandia’s zesty take on the famous moscow mule

Ingredients:
– 1 part Finlandia Grapefruit Vodka
– 3 parts ginger beer
– 1/4 part lime juice
– Glass: copper mug
– Garnish: cucumber slice, lime wedge, ginger stalks

Method:
– Mix ingredients into a ice-filled copper mug
– Stir lightly.
– Garnish with a cucumber slice, lime wedge and ginger stalks.
– Enjoy.

Raspberry Capipiroska
The raspberry lends a novel flavor to the classic caipiroska cocktail

Ingredients:
– 1.25 oz. Finlandia Raspberry Flavored Vodka
– 4 lime wedges
– 2 tsp sugar
– A few berries

Method:
– Give the lime wedges and sugar a muddle in the glass.
– Add a spoon of crushed ice.
– Pour the Finlandia vodka and stir.
– Top it off with more crushed ice, garnish with berries, and serve with a spoon for stirring.

Fugu Delray
From Lionfish Delray

Ingredients:
– 1.5 oz Stoli Elit Vodka
– 0.5 oz Monkey 47 Gin
– 1 oz lemon juice
– 0.5 oz raspberry basil reduction syrup
– 0.5 oz Combier Orange
– 0.25 oz house almond syrup
– Glass: Fugu

Method:
– Mix the following ingredients into a cocktail tin with ice and shake.
– Fine strain into the Fugu Glass.
– Top with Dom Perignon 2006
– Dust the glass with edible gold spray

Baby’s Watermelon
Inspired by the award winning film Dirty Dancing

Ingredients:
– 0.75 oz Cointreau
– 2 oz The Botanist Islay Dry Gin
– 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
– 3 cubes watermelon
– 5 leaves cilantro
– Garnish: watermelon slice, lemon

Method:
– Add all ingredients to a shaker and gently muddle.
– Add ice, shake and strain into a chilled glass.
– Garnish with a watermelon slice and/or lemon

Proper Irish Coffee

Ingredients:
– 2 oz Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey
– 4 oz hot coffee
– 0.75 oz simple syrup
– 2-3 oz heavy cream
– Optional: nutmeg

Method:
– In a shaker or jar, shake or whip heavy cream until slightly thickened (not completely stiff).
– In a mug, add Proper No. Twelve Whiskey, hot coffee, and simple syrup. Stir.
– Carefully layer on top the thickened heavy cream until it covers the drink.
– Optional grating of nutmeg on top.

Green-Eyed Toddy

Ingredients:
– 1.5 oz Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey
– 0.5 oz Lemon Juice
– 0.5 oz Honey Syrup (1:1)
– Hot green tea
– Garnish: cinnamon stick

Method:
– Build in hot toddy glass or mug.
– Top with hot green tea.
– Garnish with cinnamon stick.

Santo Paloma Fever

Ingredients:
– 1.5 oz Santo Spirit Mezquila
– 0.5 oz organic blossom honey syrup
– 1.5 oz Carpano Bianco
– 1 oz fresh ruby red grapefruit juice
– 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
– Pinch of salt
– Top with 1.5 oz Topo Chico
– Glass: Old Fashioned

Method:
– Combine ingredients 1-6 in shaker with ice.
– Shake and strain over fresh ice and top with Topo Chico.
– Serve in a double old-fashioned glass.
– Garnish with a grapefruit wheel and ginger slice.

Santo Sunny Blood Orange

Ingredients:
– 1.5 oz Santo Spirit Blanco Tequila
– 3 oz sparkling blood orange juice
– 1 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
– 2 oz Cointreau
– Garnish: orange slice, lime wheel

Method:
– Shake Santo Blanco, fresh squeezed lime juice and cointreau in a shaker with ice.
– Strain over ice and top with sparkling blood orange juice.
– Serve in a rocks glass.
– Garnish with an orange slice and lime wheel.
