0Constantine Maroulis On His New Film “Dark State,” New Music, Howard Stern, Van Halen & More
Constantine Maroulis first came to prominence as “the beloved rock n’ roll underdog” on American Idol. He then secured his place in pop culture as a Broadway superstar, turning heads within his Tony-nominated role in Rock Of Ages. These days, Maroulis keeps busy as an actor, a recording artist and a father; his latest album is the 2020 full-length Until I’m Wanted, his first in about a decade.
Dark State is Constantine Maroulis’ latest film, as set for a March 19, 2021 theatrical release and a May 4, 2021 VOD/digital release via Lucca Films in association with Creative Partners International, Realize Studios and the Atlas Distribution Company. Within the film, character Katie Marro is on the verge of becoming a movie star when her plans are brutally interrupted. While driving home to her small hometown, Marro is involved in a fatal car crash in which she is the only survivor. Alicia Gazzarra, a local reporter at the Hammonton Herald, begins to write an article about the accident and the deceased passengers: a retired Army intelligence officer, an heir to a pharmaceutical fortune, and a self-confessed serial killer. Without spoiling too much, startling coverups and deadly secrets are both exposed, as Maroulis — as Adorno — is in the mix of that, as seen in the trailer below.
On March 11, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Constantine Maroulis about Dark State, Until I’m Wanted and a plethora of other topics (e.g. Howard Stern, Van Halen, New Jersey his Greek heritage), as embedded below. More on Maroulis is online at www.constantinemaroulis.com and www.facebook.com/ConstantineMOfficial, while more on Dark State is here, here and here.
