Chaz Bono On His New Film “Reboot Camp,” Working On “Curb Your Enthusiasm” & Future Plans

The new film Reboot Camp — due out via DVD and North American digital HD, Internet, cable, and satellite platforms outlets through Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios, on May 4, 2021 — tells the story of 2 brothers who create “Reboot Camp,” a fake self-help group, and invent its leader “Gordon St. Pierre.” This invention is done in order to make a documentary to expose the exploitative practices of fake gurus and how easy it is to con people into believing just about anything. And much to their surprise, without giving too much away, the brothers’ absurd “Reboot Camp” becomes a big success with a devoted following; the film comes courtesy of writer/director Ivo Raza, who has screened and/or won at many international festivals.

Reboot Camp had its world premiere at the Austin Film Festival, and it stars David Lipper (Fuller House), Keli Price (On Thin Ice), Ed Begley Jr. (Arrested Development), David Koechner (Anchorman 1 & 2), Lindsey Shaw (Suburgatory), Chaz Bono (American Horror Story), Shar Jackson (According To Him + Her), Pierson Fodé (The Bold & The Beautiful) and Maya Stojan (Castle). Also appearing as themselves within the film are Ja Rule, Eric Roberts, Eliza Roberts, Johnny Bananas, Billy Morrison, Corinne Olympios, Eddie McClintock, Nicole Aniston… Just a lot of people you ought to recognize from other projects!

On April 15, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Chaz Bono via Zoom, as embedded below. We not only talking about the making of Reboot Camp, but also his work on Curb Your Enthusiasm and other projects, life during COVID-19, future plans, and what he has been watching on television lately. More on Bono is at www.chazbono.org, while more about Reboot Camp is here, here and here.
