From Poetry to Rhyme – The Vigalanty Story

Vigalanty is one of the hottest rap and hip-hop artists on the music scene today, and we recently had the pleasure of sitting down with him and delving a little bit deeper into his past. It’s always fascinating to see what made an artist into who they are today, what their road in life was, and why they’re making music now. It’s a lesson in growth, but not only that, it’s also an example that anyone can succeed, if they truly set their mind to it.

So, in our recent talk with the artist Vigalanty, the mastermind of “Haters Gonna Hate”, we took a trip down memory lane, and discussed what got him into making music in the first place. And what we found was interesting, especially since rappers and hip-hop artists are usually perceived as these really tough, hardcore individuals. We definitely don’t think of softness and emotion, even if these two things are also a heavy part of the rap and hip-hop industry.

“I started out as your typical guy who just wrote poetry to girls and poetry soon turned into freestyles and Rhymes,” Vigalanty tells us, and we can’t help but smile. Because yes, a skill for making quality rhymes is surely at the core of every strong hip hop tune. But really, a young man in love, penning poems for the ladies isn’t exactly what we have in mind when we talk about a badass rapper.

And yet, once you sit down and pay a little more attention to what lies behind the slapping rhythm of “Haters Gonna Hate”, it becomes easy to see that Vigalanty isn’t just another great voice. He’s also a skilled writer, with a beautiful, complex mind. Luckily for us all, as his passion for penning verses grew deeper, he started becoming more and more aware of his skill in this domain.

“And as I started learning about how to record, I started to find out about showcases and attending and I was hooked.”

Because in order to truly make it in this business, you need more than just skill or a nice voice. You need the drive that will have you pushing forward, even when chances that you’ll succeed are dire. And that’s exactly what Vigalanty seems to possess. Much in the spirit of his hit single “Haters Gonna Hate”, he is an artist who’s always managed to succeed in the face of adversity. And what’s more, to grow from it.

Letting the disappointment and frustration seep into his music, and mixing it with the success and satisfaction, Vigalanty has always had a powerfully unique sound to him, which makes us think he is going to go far in this industry. He’s had music ranked among the Top 10 songs on Miami Heat, and for good reason – his lyrics are as powerful as the killer beats, and that’s thanks to Vigalanty’s undeniable love of poetry and the beauty of words.
