0Garrett Jamieson On His New Series “Heavy Metal Hitchhiker,” Winnipeg, Future Plans & More
Prior to finding success as a comedian, Garrett Jamieson worked at a dirt factory, a funeral home and a pornography store. After leaving Winnipeg, Jamieson graduated from The Humber School of Comedy with honors, later co-founding the award-winning sketch troupe The BOOM, with which he worked alongside Scott Thompson, Nikki Payne and Colin Mochrie. Since then, Jamieson has been featured on The Ron James Show, XM Radio’s Laugh Attack, MTV Canada, The Comedy Network, Etalk Canada and CBC Radio, also touring alongside the Juno Award-winning metal band KEN mode.
The Comedy Records artist is also the star of the new BangerTV series Heavy Metal Hitchhiker. This action-packed comedy series follows a day in the life of Mitch, a heavy metal-loving gas station attendant, who stumbles upon an abandoned guitar that belongs to his favourite band, RÄGR. Without giving too much away, Mitch hast 10 hours to travel 247 kilometers to fulfill his destiny. The 8-episode series was directed and co-written by Marc Ricciardelli (Shredders Of Metal, Protest The Hero: Of Our Own Volition), executive produced by Banger Films co-founder Sam Dunn, and includes music from both top metal artists (e.g. Power Trip, Municipal Waste, Possessed) and acclaimed Canadian artists.
