Georgina Campbell On Her New Film “Wildcat,” Working On “Black Mirror,” Upcoming Roles & More

In Wildcat, an ambitious reporter (played by Georgina Campbell) stationed in the Middle East is taken captive after a militant group ambushes her convoy. Convinced that the young woman is hiding her true identity, the group’s members will stop at nothing to extract information crucial to the success of their upcoming terrorist attack. With time running out, the reporter must find a way to survive and turn the tables on her assailants. As written and directed by Jonathan W. Stokes, Wildcat — which is scheduled to hit theaters on April 23, 2021 and on-demand and digital outlets on April 27, 2021 — also stars Luke Benward (Dumplin’, How To Eat Fried Worms), Ibrahim Renno, Mido Hamada and Ali Olomi.

The aforementioned Georgina Campbell is an award-winning actress, having won the 2015 BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress for 2014’s Murdered By My Boyfriend. She has worked steadily since her debut role as the lead in 2009’s Freak, notably appearing in Black Mirror, Syfy’s Krypton, ITV’s Broadchurch and Sky 1’s After Hours. While Wildcat is her latest movie, she had plenty of other forthcoming film and television projects as of this article’s publishing.

On April 16, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Georgina Campbell via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond Wildcat, we spoke of upcoming releases she is a part of, her aspirations to write and direct beyond acting, and hobbies outside of work. More on Georgina Campbell can be found here and here, while more information about Wildcat can be found here, here, here and here.
