Today, VH1 announced the third chapter of the original digital docu-series “Growing Up Black,” an unfiltered and in-depth look at the differences in the Black experience from one city to the next across the country by interviewing locals, community members and leaders to explore issues like their personal experiences around systemic racism, what it is like growing up Black in America, and the feelings and experiences around the Black Lives Matter movement today. “Growing Up Black: Atlanta” premieres on VH1 YouTube Wednesday, April 28 at 4pm ET/1pm PT.

The third installment of the docu-series takes an up-close-and-personal look at the city of Atlanta, the history of Black excellence that stems from it, the city’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities and their importance within the AUC, and the conversation of “Old Atlanta” v.s. “New Atlanta.” The series also shines a light on the ample variety of politicians, civil rights activists, artists and celebrities that were raised in the city and have made a lasting impact on the world because of it. Featuring interviews with Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, rapper Light Skin Keisha (Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta), CEO of The New Georgia Project Nsé Ufot, actor Miss Lawrence, Atlanta City Councilman, Post 3 at Large, Andre Dickens and others, discussing the fruitfulness of Atlanta’s culture and people, this installment depicts how the city has heavily impacted not just them but the Black community as a whole.

The third episode premieres Wednesday, April 28 at 4pm ET/1pm PT as a VH1 YouTube Premiere.
