The Hype Magazine got Kissie to weigh in on a few things

From the outside looking in who is Kissie Lee?

A singer songwriter building a strong and solid fan base with her to the top!

Was there a defining moment that brought you to the music industry?

When I went to a birthday party at 6 years old and it was at a place called “Kidskits” where they sing act and dance. I loved it so much I went home and told my mom I wanted to be in it and she figured out to make me a part of it!

You made your bones as a songwriter, what made you decide to step center stage as an artist?

I’ve always been an artist I just never knew songwriting was a career! I usually just wrote for myself because I needed songs to sing. Once I got into the field of songwriting it took so much time and energy to really be taken seriously so I focused on it until I found the right team who could get my artistry off the ground.

What’s been the most challenging for you in making the transition?

Being the center of attention at all times lol because as a songwriter I made whichever artist the center of attention and I was like a piece of them but now I’m fully me all the time lol.

What is the most satisfying for you as regards being an artist yourself?

Knowing people appreciate me from all aspects of my gifts from writing to actually sanging it on the stage.

Tell us about your current project and what it means for you?

My current project is going to give Rnb vibes for sure that’s my heart and it for me tells the story of once we break up with the guy like those immediate feelings and steps we go through right in the thick of it.

Aside from music, what are your passions?

Being a mom, cooking lol, vlogging, and reading oh and searching ig for my friends to see who they current situation used to be with lol.

Tell us about your Zoom classes and your work to protect women

I started it as a way to keep our heads on a swivel. During the pandemic I was home with my daughter and just realizing I have to name sure she is always protected then I thought about situations that could have went bad for me and my friends and thought it would be a great idea to spread the message even further

Where can those who feel threatened or exploited go for more help/info?

https://www.womenprotectionservices.com/

https://www.thehotline.org/

I feel like there should be more places to go for help but those are two that I have found so far.

What’s in the cards for you in 2021? Are you excited to tour when the restrictions lift?

I am definitely excited for your season to open back up and right now I’m laying the groundwork to be a part of all the excitement!

What’s been your funniest WTF moment thus far in your career?

lol there are so many but one would be when I wrote a song for myself called “Somebody Else” and the producer’s team sent it to another artist lol and right when I released my song she leaked her version and her fans kept coming for me on Twitter I was like ummmm.
