10 Moms to Celebrate on BET+ for Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, here are some good, Moms-we-love content on BET+ to celebrate all the amazing moms out there.

  • First Wives Club Season 1 (starring Michelle Buteau as Bree) — Bree is the wildcard of her friend group. As an orthopedic surgeon, she is the breadwinner of her family, Bree is learning to balance her career, family, and relationship with her husband.
  • A Mother’s Love (starring Kandi Burruss as Lena) — This play/musical is loosely inspired by Kandi’s relationship with her actual mother. Lena must find the balance between honoring her relationship with her mother and making her own decisions as her career and love life evolve.
  • The Parkers (starring Mo’Nique as Nikki) — Becoming a teenage mom and giving birth to her daughter, Kim, Nikki is forced to leave high school. Years later, it’s time for Kim to go to high school, and who better to join her than her own mother?
  • Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (starring Cassi David as Ella) — In the Payne family, Ella is the matriarch of the family and the voice of reason, always giving her children advice and keeping the family together.
  • The Rich and the Ruthless (starring Victoria Rowell as Kitty) — Not only is Rowell the creator of this soap opera, but she also stars as Kitty, the wife of a self-made businessman and showrunner who decides to join her husband’s soap opera in order to keep it on air.
  • Bruh (starring Chandra Currelly as Alice) — Who would men be without their mothers? This dramedy follows four longtime friends as they navigate life and relationships through the strength of their brother-like bond, of course relying on each other — and their mothers — for some support (and tough love) along the way.
  • Fruits of the Heart (starring Wendy Raquel Robinson as Ella) — In this family dramedy, Ella and her daughter, Maya, fight like any other mother/daughter duo, but as they journey through life’s obstacles, their bond grows stronger, ultimately leading them to become best friends.
  • Ruthless (starring Melissa L. Williams as Ruth) — A member of a religious cult, Ruth is forced to play nice in order to free herself and her daughter from the cult
  • Madea — Based on Tyler Perry’s mother and aunt, Madea is the ultimate matriarch, facing everything head-on, with a side of sass and tons of life advice. In each of her features, there is never a situation where she’s not there for her family.
  • All the Way Black, Season 1, Episode 10 (“Ahhh, Potato Salad”) — Hosted by Chris Spencer, this comedy series offers hilarious (and smart) commentary on iconic moments in black pop culture from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90. In this episode, Chris and guests remember their favorite holiday family traditions, recalling how their mamas, grand mamas, and aunties used to throw down in the kitchen when they were kids.
