Chef Marcus Samuelsson On The New “Bramble 75” Cocktail, The “Bursting With Berries” Class Series, Future Plans & More

Debuting just in time to celebrate World Gin Day on June 12, 2021, the “Bursting With Berries” class series was designed to explore the flavors, textures and colors expressed when experimenting with berries in both drink and food pairings. Chef Marcus Samuelsson created a cocktail for the series, aptly-dubbed the Bramble 75, which will be available to purchase as part of a CocktailCourier.com kit.

The aforementioned Chef Marcus Samuelsson is of course the very same 50-year-old chef and restaurateur known for his brightly-colored hats, 11 restaurants, 7 cookbooks and uplifting Black voices in the culinary world. For the “Bursting With Berries” virtual classes, Samuelsson has brought together Black chefs from around the nation, including New York’s Adrienne Cheatham, Los Angeles’ Joseph Johnson and Miami’s Tristen Epps. Among what is shown within these classes is how to make Grilled Piri Piri Shrimp with Blackberry Watermelon Salad, which one can easily pair with a Bramble 75.

On June 11, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Chef Marcus Samuelsson via Zoom, as embedded below. Besides his work with Bombay Bramble, he spoke about his multi-faceted career, productivity, future plans as a restauranteur, author and philanthropist, hobbies outside of work and food, music, and more. Additional information on Samuelsson and his long-term work with the Bombay Bramble team can be found by clicking here, here, here and here.
