Details On Midleton Unveiling Of Its New “Midleton Very Rare Vintage Release 2021” In The U.S.

Irish Distillers is one of Ireland’s leading suppliers of spirits and wines, and producer of some of the world’s most well-known and successful Irish whiskeys. As led by Jameson, reportedly the world’s best-selling Irish whiskey, its brands are exported to 130+ markets. Irish Distillers, as formed in 1966, joined Pernod Ricard in 1988, gaining access to unprecedented levels of investment and an extensive global distribution network. Since 2012, it has invested over €400 million to help double its production and bottling capacity, thus meeting global demand for its products.

Midleton Very Rare was helmed by Irish Distillers’ Midleton Distillery to be “the ultimate expression of luxury and craftsmanship.” Renowned for its annual vintage release — as first created in 1984 — Irish Distillers’ Master Distiller hand-selects the finest and rarest whiskeys from the inventory of Midleton Distillery before blending them to create a true whiskey masterpiece. Often referred to as “the pinnacle of Irish whiskey,”its portfolio includes the Midleton Very Rare Barry Crockett Legacy, the Midleton Very Rare Dair Ghaelach Series, and the Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection.

Earlier today it was announced that Midleton Very Rare Vintage Release 2021 is now available in the United States. The 38th edition in the renowned and highly collectable range is the first in the series to be masterfully created by Irish Distillers’ new Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman. O’Gorman took several months to explore “the finest casks in the Midleton inventory” as he sought to put his own mark on this eagerly-awaited annual limited-edition release. In order to maintain a luxurious, balanced aroma and taste profile, O’Gorman selected a perfect mix of first fill and second fill casks to enhance the wood contribution while allowing the pot still component to express itself.

Commented O’Gorman, the third master distiller to oversee this collection, in a prepared statement: “It is an honor to join my predecessors in bringing the Midleton Very Rare collection to life. The process has allowed me to explore our rarest casks to create an exceptional blend that builds on tradition while bringing a new dimension and we’re thrilled to bring this release to our customers in the U.S.”

Bottled at 40 percent ABV, Midleton Very Rare 2021 is now available in the United States through online and fine brick and mortar retailers alike for a suggested retail price of $220.00. More on Midleton Very Rare can be found by clicking here, here, here, here and here.
