IMPACT Wrestling Star Eric Young On “Slammiversary,” Goals In & Out Of Wrestling, Music, Hockey, Hobbies, “Letterkenny” & More

IMPACT Wrestling has started off 2021 strong, recently making headlines with this month’s Against All Odds pay-per-view. IMPACT’s next big televised event will be Slammiversary on July 17, 2021, as airing via the IMPACT Plus! network. Meanwhile, IMPACT Wrestling itself — which airs on Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM EST / 7:00 PM CST, as preceded by the Before The Impact program and followed by the IMPACT In 60 program — is regularly the highest-rated show on the AXS TV network.

One of the IMPACT stars who has people talking is Eric Young. While only 41 years old, Young started wrestling in the late 1990s and first found his way into TNA Wrestling — the precursor to IMPACT Wrestling — in 2004. Following a few years with WWE, Young returned to IMPACT in July 2020 as a surprise participant within the company’s Slammiversary pay-per-view. Currently, Young is the leader of the Violent By Design faction, which holds the IMPACT World Tag Team Championship. Otherwise, Young’s accolades within IMPACT include several runs as its World Champion, time as the company’s X Division Champion, and a “Match Of The Year” award honor. Simply put, Young is one of those people you are rooting for even when he is not doing pleasant things on-camera with IMPACT.

On June 24, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Eric Young via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond his work IMPACT Wrestling, we spoke about his career goals and life outside of wrestling, music, hockey, Letterkenny and Canada. More on Young can be found here, here, here and here.
