Josh Stiffy and the Start of a Spirited and Illustrious Music Career

Musicians and key players in the arts and entertainment industry are strangely similar in experiences that stood as hurdles between them and their music careers. The difference is how they were able to wade through these experiences to own successful careers

Born in Danbury, Connecticut, Josh Stiffy was raised by a single mother and had to move to Waterbury in Connecticut when he was 4. They had to live off of section 8 their whole lives with Stiffy’s mother doing the best she could for Stiffy and his kid sister.

For Josh Stiffy, settling for less was never thought of as he wanted to achieve much more than just living and trying to make ends meet. Motivated by the desire to be more, he began making music in August in his studio when a friend of his built a homemade studio in a closet during summer.

Speaking about how it happened, an enthused Stiffy had this to say, “I couldn’t believe the sound quality that was coming out of that closet. I never made music or ever thought about making music in my life. I never wrote lyrics or even listened to my voice out loud before. He forced me to put the headphones on and talk in the mic to hear how it sounds. It didn’t sound bad.”

Josh Stiffy built his studio in July, and by August 2021 he began recording. With over 70 recorded tracks he debuted in February and has released 6 singles. In collaboration with his friend that forced him to put the headphones on Stiffy is featured on his friend “Acbandzzz”  #N3W EP . With many more collaborations yet to come by the two. Inspired by many musical artists including rapper, Lil Wayne, he has several tapes on the way and collaborations with YN jay and Reese Youngn. Stiffy believes one of the most significant achievements in his career is the upcoming project with Reese Youngn, a six-track project titled “Concrete Cowboys,” which would be produced and engineered by Stiffy himself.

In an unfortunate twist, Josh Stiffy had to deal with severe pains from nerve damage in his spine when he was 21. Stiffy was involved in an accident with an 18-wheeler which caused him to hit the divider on the highway. As a result, Stiffy had to deal with physical therapy and a chiropractor for over a year and a half before getting surgery on his lower spine to remove a chunk of the disk pressing on his nerve, causing severe back and leg pains 24/7.

“It wasn’t until after my surgery that I started having goals in my life. I have been setting goals and knocking them down been progressing ever since,” said Josh Stiffy. As proof of his progress in his career, Stiffy has plans to shoot his first music video in Miami with Reese Youngn. He is also working on his first EP titled “No More Doubt.”

A father of 3, Josh Stiffy manages to combine raising a family and building a career simultaneously. He is also looking forward to the launch of his clothing line, “4 the Doubtless.” Stiffy recently hosted a community event featuring bouncy houses for the kids, free drinks, free food, and an ice cream truck with free ice cream all day.

Josh Stiffy’s story is proof that much more can be done with requisite determination and push.
