Keeping the Legacy Alive, A Guide by ‘IMMPAAC’

Every family has a legacy attached to it. Be it traditional family food or a ritual; there is always something that makes it unique from others. Similarly, music was the tradition of the Jolley family. Noble Levi Jolley Sr., a veteran accomplished jazz guitarist who was the first Jazz Graduate from Howard University, hung up his axe to provide for his family. His lifelong dream of making it big in the industry was sidetracked when he became responsible for his children. Nevertheless, his passion for music was evident in his children from their childhood. Nate’ IMMPAAC’ Jolley. He is a renowned stellar-nominated music producer who has made it big in the industry and made his father proud.

Nate Jolley, a.k.a. IMMPAAC, represents the new sound of music. He has the Midas touch and has worked with and discovered some of the biggest, global musical stars such as Shahadi Wright Joseph. She has worked on Disney’sLion King,’ and ‘Us’ and Trinidad Cardona, the singer of ‘Jennifer.’ He has also brought forward talents like Austin Mahone, Fifth Harmony, and many more. IMMPAAC has also collaborated with some of the biggest musical stars including, French Montana, Fifth Harmony, Kenny Lattimore, King Los, Chante Moore, Mya, and many more. 

As music coursed through IMMPAAC’s veins, it was natural that he would do something great in the field of music. A graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University with an honors degree in ‘Jazz Studies,’ working on the ‘BET Wrap It Up Tour Mixtape’ was his first experience in the music industry as an executive producer. Having inherited the passion and exceptional understanding of music from his father, Nate gave his best the Wrap its campaign; the Show ended in an Emmy. 

Determined from a young age to be a record producer, IMMPAAC’S next step was to open a record label with the vision of making it a modern-day Motown. Drawing inspiration from the label’s founder, Berry Gordy, who discovered global superstars such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations & more. IMMPAAC is off to a promising start in 2018 with the launch of its music label, ‘Lion Pack Music Group,’ (LPMG). With this label, he has discovered Shahadi Wright Joseph, the 11-year-old singer. He signed her to his label, and the young Shahadi kicked off her career in blockbusters such as Disney’s Lion King’ and Jordan Peele’sUs’

In 2020 Lion Pack Music Group inked a partnership with Universal Japan to Release Shahadi’s international single ‘Wall Paper.’  

IMMPAAC’S most recent signing is a 21-year-old Internet sensation, Trinidad Cardona who’s hit single ‘Jennifer’ has gained over 90 million views on YouTube. Lion Pack Music Group will be releasing his E.P. ‘Popstar’ later in the year. The track would be a collaboration with world-renowned engineer Dexter Simmons and producer-songwriter Starchild Yezzo, serving as co-executive producers of the project. IMMPAAC states, “Trinidad will be the next big global-superstar to push musical boundaries into the decade.” 

A Tribute to His Father

IMMPAAC and his pianist brother Noble joined their hands and heads to release a ten-track album, ‘Memoirs of Brothers’ in honor of their deceased father. Each song on the album holds some emotional value for the brothers. Nate says, ‘That’s part of why we call this album Memoirs Between Brothers—it’s a family affair, the project our dad never got to make.

Recently the duo composed music with Dalal Bruchumann for the Daytime Emmy Award-winning film ‘The Rehearsal.’ The song ‘Two Sides of Trece’ was composed in memory of their dad and was featured in the film. The song was written by Nate based on his father’s advice to him during his childhood to become an aspiring musician.

Stepping Foot in Film and T.V. 

As a drummer, pianist, and music producer, he has co-written and produced songs ‘We Up’ For Chante Moore “Rise of The Phoenix” album that debuted #7 on the R&B Charts, Elijah Blake “audiology” producing track #11 “Must Be Crazy” which debuted at top 10 on the R&B charts. The very next year, Nate collaborated with Kenny Lattimore and worked together on a seasonal music album called ‘A Kenny Lattimore Christmas.’ The album secured the fourth position on the Billboard Gospel Charts. He also produced ‘Real Love This Christmas,’ a song from the same album that positioned 21st on The Billboard Hot 100 Gospel Charts. His work on the album was appreciated so much that it was nominated as the ‘Album of the Year’ at the Stellar Awards in 2018.

IMMPAAC has worked on film and T.V. on music like  ‘Superman’ with Dalal Brunchmann. The song was featured in a documentary film ‘Hair: A Documentary,’ which was released in 2015. IMMPAAC’s magical touch in the song earned it a nomination by Hollywood Music for the ‘Best Song – Documentary’ category. He’s also created music for films such as ‘Stuck, ‘First Comes Like,’ ‘Through Her Eyes,’ and ‘Lane.’ He produced music for the E TV Show ‘The Platinum Life’ His debut single, ‘Running Game,’ released on July 19, 2020, was a collaboration with the recent Lion Pack signee Trinidad Cardona. Having established his name in the music industry already, IMMPAAC’s debut song added a feather to his cap. Inspired by Quincy Jones, He will soon be releasing his debut album  “Right Path” this summer. 

Nate’s musical efforts to fulfill his father’s and his dreams are commendable as he sets an example of a perfect son and determined individual. Fitting the context is a quote by Gabrielle Bernstein that says,

Never Forget Your Parents, As They Are the Reason Why You Are And Who You Are
