MTV News Launches Queer Music Week Across All Digital Platforms in Celebration of Pride

Today, MTV News launched a special roundtable discussion with four queer artists to kick-off Queer Music Week 2021, a Pride month celebration of the LGBTQ+ artists and allies making the music that matters. Rapper/activist Mykki Blanco, ukulele-playing bedroom-pop artist Mxmtoon, southern-born singer-songwriter Katie Pruitt and gospel-influenced pop star VINCINT convened with moderator and culture commentator Ryan A. Mitchell to discuss their own picks for the essential queer anthems of the millennium, which were used to craft the ultimate top 10 list. From Frank Ocean and Lady Gaga to Kacey Musgraves, the group decides the most influential and iconic anthems that have shaped them. The playful, thoughtful and lively conversation touches on the power of a good record, the connectedness of community and much more. MTV News will also be publishing several editorial profiles throughout the week by noted LGBTQ+ writers, that explore larger questions and contexts in the realm of queer anthems.

The roundtable discussion is up now on MTV News Youtube, with additional content launching throughout the week. All content will be distributed across MTV News socials including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and will also live on MTVNews.com.
