0Trevor Moore On The Creative Process Behind “The Trevor Moore Show,” “The Whitest Kids U’ Know,” Future Projects & More
Millions of people first learned about Trevor Moore as a founding member and the leader of the sketch comedy group The Whitest Kids U’ Know. The troupe’s self-titled sketch show ran for 5 seasons on IFC and its videos have accumulated over 100 million views on YouTube. Moore went on to release 2 solo comedy specials with Comedy Central, his debut comedy music album Drunk Texts To Myself and his 2018 special and album The Story Of Our Times. Moore’s relationship with Comedy Central continues as Season 2 of his Comedy Central digital series The Trevor Moore Show is now streaming.
Those accolades shown above are far from all Trevor Moore has accomplished within entertainment. With Adam Small he co-created the Disney Channel shows Just Roll With It and Walk The Prank, also having directed multiple episodes of both programs. Per Deadline, he has been attached with a few of his Whitest Kids U’ Know castmates to a television adapation of the classic comedy film Stripes. Moore’s IMDb credits also include other work as a producer and composer, so one can only imagine how many simultaneous projects Moore has going on as a star, producer and/or writer at any given time.
On June 23, 2021, I spoke with Trevor Moore via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond The Trevor Moore Show, we spoke about his influences as a writer and performer, long-term career goals, why he does not watch much comedy, and plenty more.
