Spoken Word Music Artist Kyle Dendy Opens for Kanye West in Houston, TX

Kanye West and his Sunday Service choir have travelled around the world performing songs from Mr. West’s most recent album Jesus is King. On a number of these tour stops, they have been joined by spoken word music artist Kyle Dendy who opened up for the group at Lakewood Church in Houston. This particular event made history as Kanye and the Sunday Service choir joined forces with Joel Osteen who leads one of the biggest churches in America.

As the evening began, the first words from the dark stage came from Dendy who went on to speak for 2-3 minutes in a poetic fashion, a word of encouragement to the 15,000+ attendees and millions watching online. While this was a big stage for Dendy, this wasn’t the first time he’s been seen inspiring crowds. His online videos, spoken word poetry and more have reached tens of millions of people online, thousands more on his speaking tours and ultimately led to him joining forces with Kanye West in Houston.

The hours that followed were full of singing and dancing by the choir members in addition to a number of small performances by Mr. West. The album Jesus is King has gone on to win a grammy and be admired by fans around the world.
