The Dark Order’s Preston Vance On Becoming A Fan Favorite In AEW, Future Plans, Music & More

Founded by CEO, GM and Head of Creative Tony Khan, All Elite Wrestling — or AEW, for short — is a new professional wrestling league headlined by Cody & Brandi Rhodes, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), Chris Jericho, Sting, Hangman Page, MJF, Darby Allin, Hikaru Shida, Dr. Britt Baker and Jon Moxley. For the first time in many years, AEW is offering an alternative to mainstream wrestling, with a roster of world-class talent that is injecting new spirit, freshness and energy into the industry. The inaugural event under the AEW banner was the sold-out Double Or Nothing pay-per-view in Las Vegas in May 2019. AEW began airing its weekly show Dynamite on TNT in October 2019, since finding international success with other weekly programming on both television and digital outlets, including AEW Dark, AEW Dark Elevation, Being The Elite and AEW Unrestricted.

One of the groups who regularly has AEW fans talking is The Dark Order. The stable consists of Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, John Silver, Alex Reynolds, Preston Vance, Alan Angels, Anna Jay, Colt Cabana and Brodie Lee Jr. Vance — also known as “10” — first became associated with The Dark Order in April 2020, about 3 months after debuting in AEW as a singles competitor. Prior to signing with AEW, Vance was the winner of several singles championships around the U.S. indie circuit. These days, Vance is regularly seen in main events on Dark, Dark Elevation and Dynamite, as all of the members of The Dark Order frequently have multiple appearances within each episode of weekly AEW programming.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Preston Vance on August 16, 2021 via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond AEW’s continued success and Vance’s pride about his membership in The Dark Order, we spoke about life outside of wrestling, future goals for the Michigan native, and music.
