IMPACT Wrestling’s Matthew Rehwoldt On Wrestling, Whiskey, Chicago & Future Career Plans

IMPACT Wrestling started off 2021 strong, making headlines with last month’s Against All Odds pay-per-view. IMPACT’s next big televised event will be next month’s Victory Road on September 17, 2021, as airing via the IMPACT Plus! network. Meanwhile, IMPACT Wrestling itself — which airs on Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM EST / 7:00 PM CST, as preceded by the Before The Impact program and followed by the IMPACT In 60 program — is regularly the highest-rated show on the AXS TV network.

One of the IMPACT stars who has people talking is Matthew Rehwoldt. Rehwoldt made his debut with IMPACT at Homecoming, teaming with Deonna Purrazzo to defeat Hernandez and Alisha Edwards in the first round of the event’s tournament. The duo later defeated Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green in the tournament’s semi-finals, and Decay (Crazzy Steve and Rosemary) in the finals to become the Homecoming King and Queen. Off-screen, Rehwoldt has also kept busy as the host of the Straight Shooting podcast — in which he talks whiskey and wrestling — and providing live event commentary.

On August 31, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Matthew Rehwoldt via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond his signing with IMPACT, we spoke about whiskey, his past as an actor, future career plans and plenty more. More on Rehwoldt and IMPACT can be found online by visiting Rehwoldt’s Twitter account ( and/or
