Wavy Navy Pooh & Shod the God Team With DTLR to Provide Free Shoes to Miami’s Youth

This past weekend, Quality Control Music’s artist Wavy Navy Pooh and Shod the God teamed up with the trendy fashion retail giant DTLR, to provide free shoes for all school-aged children that came into the South Florida location. During this 2-hour event over $10,000 worth of shoes were purchased.

Their goal, in which they surpassed, was to provide a free pair of show to all children that walked through the doors within that time slot.

Wavy Navy Pooh, one of the newest artist signed to the Quality Control Music label, is a lyrical genius who wears his heart on his sleeve with vivid and hard-hitting tracks that chronicle the harsh realities of his upbringing in one of Miami’s most dangerous districts. The 25-year old rapper credits Instagram for saving his life, where Quality Control’s CEO P direct-messaged him asking for music, which led to his recent and prompt signing to the label. As part of the new generation of QC’s roster, a label known for scouting and breaking bright new talent, he hit the ground running with his debut album Murder Is A Major Issue, or M.I.A.M.I. The album offers an introduction to the lesser-known side of Miami, from the perspective of someone who found hip-hop to be not only a way out, but a tool for shining a much needed light on the violence that has plagued the lives of those who couldn’t. Speaking on M.I.A.M.I., Wavy Navy shares: “Hip hop inspired me because I always saw a way out for people like myself coming from nothing…I want to be a legend when it’s all said & done. I want the world to know the other side of Miami.”
