Alternative R&B Artist Foxfrd Uses His Video Game Animation Skills in “Oni”

R&B artist Foxfrd applies his video game animating skills in the release of his epic new music video “Oni” available on all streaming platforms now. The fantasy landscape created by Foxfrd himself, is meant to house what he envisions to be a demons’ living space, as he contemplates the fallout of a past relationship. Inspired by real life events, “Oni” shines a light on a past love’s perspective on a previous relationship in which, his former partner now perceives Foxfrd to be an unforgiveable demon – in Japanese folklore, a demon is referred to as an ‘Oni’. We feel for Foxfrd’s beloved character as he slowly makes his way through the dream-like landscape in search for closure and inner peace. We love the mellow mood of his new single as well as the art representative of his deep, complex emotional state.

“Yeah I know it ain’t a game I knew it from the start, I wasn’t being clear my fault  // Wading through a forest losing focus, Cold hands cold tears and no plans” ~ Oni

Now Los Angeles-based, Foxfrd got his musical chops during the time he spent in Memphis, TN. Having been a lead animator in the video game industry for many years, he brings a unique approach to storytelling through visual art and it’s no mystery that “Oni” pairs perfectly with the impressive visual landscape that he’s created. Having worked for notable gaming studio The Game Band, where he helped create the Apple award-winning game Where Cards Fall, Foxfrd’s experience has received impressive endorsements and we’re thrilled to witness his visions as they continue to come to life.
