0Albert Bouchard On His New Album “Imaginos 2,” The Early Days Of Blue Öyster Cult, Dio, Long Island Studios & More
Albert Bouchard may be best known as a founding member of Blue Öyster Cult. The original line-up of BÖC sold millions of albums for Columbia Records, thanks to classic songs like “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” “Burning For You” and “Godzilla.” Bouchard not only contributed drumming to BÖC, but also songwriting and lead vocals on key tracks, including “Cities On Flame With Rock and Roll.”
Following up on the success of last year’s Re Imaginos, Albert Bouchard is now back with Imaginos 2 – Bombs Over Germany (minus zero and counting), continuing “the Trilogy of Imaginos” concept album. The album weaves scripts and poems by the late Sandy Pearlman. The second single from the album is “Independence Day” which features fellow Blue Öyster Cult alumnus Joe Bouchard on vocals. Now out via Rockheart Records/Deko Entertainment, the full-length album features appearances by Ross The Boss (Dictators), Joe Cerisano (Silver Condor, TSO), original Blue Öyster Cult members Eric Bloom and Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser, and current BÖC member Richie Castellano. Imaginos 2 also features reworkings of BÖC’s “Cities On Flame With Rock and Roll” and “The Red & The Black.”
On November 2, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Albert Bouchard via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond Imaginos 2 and Re Imaginos, we also spoke about the early days of BÖC, some of BÖC’s famous tourmates (e.g. Ronnie James Dio, Van Halen), Long Island, and future career plans. More on Bouchard and his current musical endeavors can be found by clicking here, here and here.
