Lunes Debuts With Liberating and Dreamy Queer Anthem ‘Girls’

Hailing from the Inner North of Melbourne, lunes creates vibey pop music that will sometimes make you dance and sometimes make you cry. Growing up as a musical theatre kid, lunes had a taste for singing and performing from an early age. In teenage years, she taught herself keyboard and guitar and was inspired heavily by Paramore’s ‘Riot!’ album which subsequently kickstarted her journey into song writing. This lead to many years of running a popular YouTube channel, reaching a significant amount of viewers globally and allowed lunes to meet a network of people who she played regular acoustic shows with across Melbourne and other Australian cities.

Now, lunes has shifted her focus onto creating her own original sound, which is a seamless juncture between unwaveringly vulnerable acoustic bedroom jams and her new found love for expanding the sonic realm to meet you somewhere in the indie-pop ether.

Girls, the debut single from lunes, is a pastel hue of 80’s synths, pop hooks and trap hats washed out into dreamy reverbs and layered melodies. Anthemic yet intimate, confessional yet liberating, Girls is an honest and unapologetic exploration into queerness and unearthing of self.
