Live Session With Dustin Clark: Battling Muscular Dystrophy to Pursue Music and Graphic Design

I had the pleasure of doing a live session with an amazingly inspirational young lion named Dustin Clark who at a young age, was stricken with Becker Muscular Dystrophy (BMD). BMD is one of nine types of muscular dystrophies, a group of genetic, degenerative diseases primarily affecting voluntary muscles. DESPITE suffering from BMD, Dustin has managed to complete an entire album and create a successful graphic design business. So impactful are his designs, Dustin was hand-selected by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) for this year’s 40th Anniversary of MDA’s Shamrock pinup program, one of the nation’s largest St. Patrick’s Day fundraisers, to design the t-shirt for the iconic fundraiser.

No woe-is-me kinda guy, Dustin is a giant of a human being whose intestinal fortitude and pure grit have driven him to pursue his passion in music and design while overcoming a myriad of obstacles. He’s dynamic in his passion to live and enjoy life to the fullest extent possible and is an inspiration…not to mention he’s got a great sense of humor! Tune in!

Dustin records under the moniker of Black Birch; his first album is entitled Rinse & Repeat and is available on all DSPs…check out the top tracks for Black Birch below!
