Bay Area Vet DJ True Justice Drops ‘Zip Zero’ with Vocab Slick, Casual and Z-Man

“Zip Zero“ is a part of DJ True Justice’s “The Coach” EP (Francisco St. Productions/Urbanlife Distribution) and where the official music video drops on Friday, March 25 and the entire album available on all streaming platforms April 8, 2022. True Justice aka “The Man of Steel” got his start as a dancer for Oakland Super Group A.P.G. (Action Packed Gangstas) in the late ‘80s and has more recently taken on the role of an independent booking agent all while consistently proving why he is ‘The Bay Area’s Most Exciting DJ ‘ night after night.

“This song almost never got made. My business partner thought it was a throwaway beat until I advised him that with the right hook, this could be an anthem for marching to your own drum.” Explains DJ True Justice.

The video for the hard-hitting track masterfully references several Blacksploitation and cult classics to depict this chest-pumped-out theme song. True Justice provides key turntablism drops to accentuate Vocab Slick’s playful but to-the-point chorus. “Limp when I walk with my shoulder shrugged/ that’s how it is when ur fresh out of fucks / Zip Zero, Zip Zero, Zip Zero…not a none, ziltch / fuck out my face, before you get your cap peeled…”

“Zip Zero” is a song about ‘not giving a #$&!’ and relates to how others feel and being able to exist with the results of this feeling. Casual, of the famed Hieroglyphics Crew, delivers incredible wordplay while Z-Man purposely makes jaws drop with his unique observation of Hip Hop’s Golden Age. DJ True Justice, Vocab Slick and Z-Man are gearing up for The 7th Annual Slap Frost Tour of which they collectively co-founded in 2014 and where they will make stops all throughout the Midwest between March 25th-April 8th.
